Amid Europe’s largest land war since World War II, 7 in 10 Americans expressed low confidence in President Joe Biden’s ability to deal with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in a new NBC News poll, and 8 in 10 voiced worry that the war will increase gas prices and possibly involve nuclear weapons.

And during the nation’s largest inflation spike in 40 years, overwhelming majorities said they believe the country is headed in the wrong direction and disapproved of the president’s handling of the economy.

Those are some of the major findings of the new national NBC News poll, which found that Biden’s overall job approval rating had declined to 40 percent, the lowest level of his presidency. The survey also found that Republicans enjoyed a 2-point lead in answer to which party should control Congress ahead of November’s midterm elections.

These are catastrophic numbers as America heads into the midterms.

No matter the spin from Biden and the media, Americans can't help but see record high gas, inflation, food shortages, etc.

Another poll I read today has Trump up 14 points over Biden with Hispanics.

It also suggests that Americans aren't buying the regime change distraction in Russia.

It’s not just the virus that he promised to fix only to say he couldn’t and punted to the states, it’s inflation, empty shelves, his war on oil and gas, supply chain issues, hiring by check box rather than qualifications, illegals running wild at the border, his inability to speak and then needing the White House to clean it up, and recently going to Poland where he sniffed more kids.

Pretty much an admission that his first year screwed the pooch. What refreshing departure from much of the rest of the Left that brings us little other than an endless loop of platitudes, blamestorming, corruption, and ignorance.

With Manchin and midterms - unlikely that anything else major passes by Nov 24

Infrastructure bill was better than nothing, I guess, but all of the other issues dwarf it

Regardless of how you want to assign blame, his time as president is perceived by the majority of the country as a disaster and rightly so. If the election was today Trump would win easy. Any other belief is not reality

I guarantee you video of Biden calling to replace Biden is playing all over Russia.

Putin will cite this as proof that the US is simply using Ukraine as a front to overthrow Putin.

It will be used for recruitment and even non Putin supporters will rally because the US can't simply remove their leader.

This also means diplomatic talks are unlikely to be attended by Russians.

Too bad the rating doesn't go to the liberal media who actually got him elected. Not to mention the American people who allowed themselves to be propagandized and conditioned to vote that way. Ironically, Trump supporters were actually far better informed than Biden supporters on the issues and state of the union last election. Weird times are upon us.

Biden isn’t much better than trump was (or “Evil Cheeto Man” since we have problems with names here) but his administration is much much better. I am extremely thankful that we are not having to rely on the trump administration to deal with supply chain issues or Russia.

    Talk about disaster

Trump supporters liked his policies and cajones. The left admittedly voted against trump because they hated him, policies played no part in their vote except for the suckers who wanted to get their student loans cancelled along with a few global warming alarmists. To the left it was all about emotions with the overwhelming emotion being hate.

Biden and his administration sat by and watched close to 200,000 Russian troops amass along the Ukraine border since March 2021. He didn't say a peep. Here we are today

so, Trump praised Putin for the world to hear, and he is running in 2024 and he was the president the previous 4 years

I know the right thinks Trump didn't do anything those 4 years, but he was the President

Biden and company ignoring inflation, rising prices, etc. is what has led to his approval rating drop. Biden and company have the wrong priorities. From the article or poll.

Cost of living jumps to top issue

The decline in Biden’s handling of the economy comes as the cost of living has jumped to Americans’ most important issue in the poll, displacing jobs and the economy, voting rights/election integrity and the coronavirus as the top issues, which all topped January’s survey.

Sixty-two percent of respondents said their family income is falling behind the cost of living; 31 percent said they’re staying even; and 6 percent said their income is going up faster than the cost of living.

    And this

Asked which one issue — reducing inflation and improving the economy or working to end the war in Ukraine — should be Biden’s top priority, 68 percent picked inflation/economy, versus 29 percent who picked the war in Ukraine.

Ever since last August when Biden’s numbers began to fall, rising prices, inflation was/still is what independents consider this nation most import issue. Yet, it’s been the one issue that has been ignored by Biden and the Democratic controlled congress. They’re were too fixated on the BBB, voting rights, the 1-6 hearings, then what was considered this nation most important issue. Hence, Biden has lost independents. I think most independents just got sick and tired of hearing about Trump, then more Trump and some more Trump. To them Trump isn’t in charge anymore, he’s gone, he’s no longer president, he’s basically ancient history. This is a political reality.

Most independents aren’t political junkies, they tend to vote their own situation. A thickening wallet, they’ll vote for the party in power. A thinning wallet, they’ll vote for the party out of power. I’ve said numerous times, what to know how the midterms will turn out. Watch the price of a gallon of gas and a loaf of bread.

Trump armed Ukraine with the weapons they are using against Russia. What did Obama do when Russia invaded Ukraine? Not much. What did Biden do to help Ukraine when he kept claiming it was imminent Russia would invade? Not one weapon was sent to Ukraine by Biden prior to the invasion, he just sent US troops to help protect NATO countries. Under pressure Biden is now sending weapons and money to Ukraine but the supply chains are already being threatened by Putin.

And that is why Biden's poll numbers are dropping faster than Kamala's pants at a staff meeting.

Ok fair enough but I suspect gas and food prices will only rise.

Even Bidens own cabinet says conditions are unlikely to improve by the mid terms.
