Sadly, the state media has confirmed there were no survivors. I hope they can recover enough evidence to figure out what happened.

Many of the media sources have emphasized the country has not had a fatal plane crash since 2010.

Friendly reminder: Remember to tell your loved one how much they mean to you. Another minute is never guaranteed.

That's due to man-made construction of hierarchies.

I hope it was a suicide. Obviously horrible thing to do by the pilot if it was

If it was caused by a mechanical or electrical or electronic fault the same thing can happen again to any of those 737s flying around

You think mechanical failure can't happen to any mechanical device? Sort of like the human brain; not flawless.

No I did not say that. I'm saying that a suicide is preferable to a design fault

So you hope it was caused by a design fault?

Well... the Chinese certainly want the material prosperity and wealth of 'the West', but they shun anything having to do with societal behaviors they consider to be superfluous, inferior, or simply silly wastes of time and attention -- like "diversity", "inclusiveness", "wokeness", special consideration or handouts based on "race", etc. Indeed, the Chinese are very elitist, exclusive, defensive, and protective of their 'gene pool' -- and throughout history they always have been!

Thus, they buy, seize, or steal what they consider to be the best of everything in foreign cultures and civilizations, reject what they consider to be essentially worthless, and then make improvements to suit themselves.... From a purely practical standpoint, it sounds pretty intelligent, nicht war...?

The plane was nose-diving. Sorry, but that isn't mechanical failure.

Oh, if we trust in what the Chinese say then we've made two mistakes....

Interesting comparison: look at how the Chinese actually treat people who are not ethnic 'Han' Chinese. Look at how they treat Tibetans, Uyghurs, and other 'minorities'. Now, juxtapose that with how we've treated minorities in the United States!

Taking decisive action to correct injustices of the past, here in the U. S., we passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 to insure that all American citizens are treated EQUALLY BEFORE THE LAW! And the ironic, sick part is that we Americans are still castigated by the 'woke', hyperliberal Leftists as being the worst racists in the world! Nevertheless, to my knowledge, there is no enforceable equivalent in China of a "Civil Rights Act", or a "Voting Rights Act"....

The Chinese are not sticklers on maintenance. It’s amazing they don’t have more crashes.
And yes, straight down is unlikely to be a malfunction, and likely to be a suicide.

Well, it took us 188 years to get there. The PRC has only existed for 73 years. Maybe they'll get there.

We will see but my money is on something going seriously wrong with the tail of the aircraft. The tail exerts downward pressure to hold the nose up. To go in that vertical would suggest they had zero control over the nose. A stall would be the only other thing but they didn't seem to have any spin in the video that I could make out.

What makes you say that? Eastern Chinese Airlines has a very good safety record. Since its inception beginning in 1988, they have had 6 crashes total in their history, including this one. The last crash was in 2010.

They have been building their reputation but they have a long history of shoddy and spotty policies, procedures and cover-ups.

Such an ODD response. There's nothing 'sick' about it at all .. in fact it's a very sensible hope.

Ask yourself what you'd prefer to have killed an aircraft full of people. A system flaw with the potential to impact hundreds of other aircraft? Or a random rogue pilot?

    Are you guys for real?

Isn't it obvious why that would be a preference in a fatal air crash?
