This of course is yesterdays news but I trust everyone has heard about the Police being called to the home where Boris is staying due to concerns about his partner. Here is the guy who made the call saying why he did

    https://www.theguardian.com/politic...led-police-over-boris-johnson-row-goes-public

Now it really does not come over well being portrayed as a man who has to have the police called out due to his domestics standing as PM especially at this time when we more than ever need someone who is both steady and intelligent.

The Guardian seems to have taken a dislike for him giving a list of detrimental things people have said about his ability over the years
    https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/jun/22/boris-johnson-by-those-who-know-him

and it is quite clear he is not the man who one would expect Tory MP's to favour as they do Boris....so why vote for Boris. I think this is obvious. The only other thing apart from Brexit they seemed interested in was in keeping 'Jeremy Corbyn' out and they said Boris was the man to do that. That I think, not Brexit and not that he would be a good PM is why they are trying to get Boris elected. They know that there is going to be no No Deal. They know that Parliament will call an election rather than do that. They know that Corbyn is able to connect with people. That is what I think they believe Boris can also do. They believe that Boris's 'charm' will win over the people of the UK. Will that still work I wonder.

I'm used to Boris Johnson, now; but way back in 2007, I thought he was pompous and didn't want him to be mayor.
That was the first time I ever heard of the guy.

It seems this country (now that he's probably set to become the next PM); is having the same reaction as me in 2007' which tbh was
'who's this posh pleb with the funny hair?!'

I cannot read anything in your first link which says they are Corbyn supporters but even if they were it would make no difference that they were concerned at what was going on in the flat. Other apparently non left neighbours have said they were very concerned as well. One said they were thinking of phoning the police when they arrived.
seems that is a regular with her.

What do you think about the suggestions I made in the OP about the reason for Borris currently being the favourite is nothing to do with his ability but to do with the reality that a General Election will be called rather than allow No Deal and the belief is that he will be able to 'woo' the crowds and so stop the Tory Party from disappearing into oblivion but allow it to beat Corbyn. Did you notice when they were fighting to be in the last two, that none of them mentioned fear of the Brexit Party, just the fear of Corbyn.

    Allow no deal?
Who are people to force a deal? -That's what I want to know; why exit the EU if we want to be a part of a status quo annex Northern Ireland deal? We left the EU to change, when leave means leave.

Also, of course they mentioned Jeremy Corbyn, they're British, only idiots on Euronews put the words 'Nigel Farage' where the UK news puts 'Jeremy Corbyn' when it speaks about Tory party survival.

somehow this did not go off!

Well clearly neither Johnson nor his partner are which just shows you cannot decide everyone by the area - which looks an unusually rich one. (I removed second sentence as I see you have replied :))

Parliament has the ability to stop No Deal by offering a second Referendum or a General Election. Those are the two times when the EU has said it would be open to extending our exit.

    That is your opinion.
What? You see the Brexit Party and the Tories uniting?

You obviously have missed that the Brexit Party is top of the Polls for a General Election. The Liberal Democrats are second, Labour third and the Tories come in 4th. That is in England. In Scotland the Brexit Party is fourth.

First of all, I'm still in a state of shock about Boris Johnson in Camberwell. But of course not every living soul in Camberwell is a Corbynista, that would be mental.

I don't understand what you mean. Are you saying he just says racist things to appeal to those who vote for him but isn't really? I know someone put something like that to Nicola Sturgeon in an interview. She said of course she did not know what was going on inside so could only take it from what he said. Please explain what you mean.

Quite. Nothing wrong with Camberwell of course (although there is), but one would have expected Boris to have provided his little bit of nonsense with a flat in St John's Wood or somewhere similar.

A lot of racism goes on on this forum and some people are either unaware of what racism is or themselves racist.

With reference to the link I gave you and this description of racism which was the first to come up

    https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&channel=trow&q=racism
I would say that the things described in the Independent link fit that description of racism to a tee.

Here Ian Blackford lists previous things Johnson has said when he called him a 'racist' in Parliament last week.

splendid...charges laid...arrests....hmmmm....!!?? If the guy is such a devout "racist" then why hasn't he been charged?
...reason....coz he isn't...there's a world of difference between what the Gruniad thinks and the real world.
If he was standing on a street corner yelling n***ers out then fine otherwise...please...lets not get so wrapped up in crap...there's a whole load of other things going on a wee bit more serious than listening to the Gruniad whining on about Johnson's imagined "racism". Why not go back to the usual crap that all Tories are racist and all brexiteers are of course racists and anyone that doesn't agree with that is by default racist except all Gruniad readers who are by default righteous tree huggers beyond the realms of man (who by the way are all misogynists and racsist)...there we go job done...Gruniad happy
