I too am white and have also never had any vitriol aimed at me because of the colour of my skin nor do I know anyone who has experienced this.

 

I can dispel that myth from my experience in Japan. It is a very unpleasant feeling. It's like anger mixed with something else I can't identify.

 

It may have been because you are American. On the other hand I hear that many Japanese have much the same belief about being Japanese as White Nationalists do of being white. I was watching a documentary recently which reported they do not even like to adopt because it is not a close enough blood line.

 

Whats wrong with that? What's wrong with a nation being ethnically homogeneous?

Btw, that's one of the reason life is so peaceful and good in Japan - no Muslims, no immigrants, no gypsies, no illegal or legal aliens, very low crime rates... just one big family. The greatest problems are real estate prices and low birth rates. But Japan is overcrowded, so this is somewhat normal.

 

It wasn't talking about that. It was talking about feeling superior/being aggressive towards those with a different skin colour. Japan I think has always gone for ethnic nationalism. Of course ethnic nationalism being mixed with the idea that yours is the best is a recipe for war. Now Japan has kept its ethnic nationalism since WW2 so very few people who do not look Japanese can become Japanese. Their major problems with this then would be being rude to tourists or war. They still are not in a position for war, so possibly the worst would be putting off tourists from coming, if tourists are going to be degraded for not looking Japanese - though this one example may not be what usually happens.

Obviously the situation is different in the US and many other countries where they have people of many ethnicities. If these states are to be democracies then clearly all must have the same rights and that includes the right not to be bullied by the majority. That is a strong ingredient of democracy. The official denial of that in Israel with the Nation State Law takes away any lingering belief that Israel is a democratic country.

So you may not mind people being aggressive towards you for the colour of your skin. That is your right. It does not though give you the right to do the same to others.

Hitler already tried that and we said, 'Never Again.'

Japan has so many problems I have been wondering if having been made to take on a Western life view after WW2 and giving up much of their own hegemony they have kind of got lost. Hard to find someone to have sex with there and as I said due to their strong orientation on blood lines, adoption is very rare resulting in many children having to grow up in homes with no father or mother figure making their adult life difficult. Loads of problems in Japan.

The problem in Japan is that half of the country is mountains. That is, there simply is not enough space for everybody. And yet, they don't go conquering other lands and nations, they keep it to themselves and try to cope with it, like every humble human being would do.
They didn't get lost, Japanese Hi-Fi equipment from the 70's still works today, Toyota Camry is the most popular car in America.
