Democrats can never win the swing states unless they put their money into Bernie Sanders, which is unlikely since they think the center prefers 'capitalism' rather than 'socialism' in a bad economy for those left behind.

Granted the idealism of Bernie Sanders will be similar to President Trumps idealism of protectionism, but he will compromise while pulling far left as Roosevelt did.

These times are comparable to after world war 2 and the great depression in the context of American history. Bernie Sanders can be as popular as FDR who had 4 terms from giving away free stuff.

However if Democrats continue to be arrogant, they will lose to the master of arrogance as they already have. Unfortunately this is most likely the trajectory of a country that does not represent its people, but the interests of the arrogant rich.

No body wants Bernie's brand of socialism. We can't afford adding social programs anymore. Think of the working people, they can hardly make ends meet now. And the federal government can't even balance its budget, heaping on debt. We've run out of other people's money.

Bernie will be lucky to stay out of jail until 2020. Bank fraud isn't socialist reform.

But it seems we can afford more than $1/2 trillion for the Pentagon budget for endless wars each and every year for the benefit of the military industrial complex.

I think Bernie Sanders would have a chance, but I don't think the DNC will let him. They will put forth a female Clinton clone that will be a staunch supporter of toilet rights.

Yeah there's always that mushroom cloud hovering over your head.

"war is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength" - George Orwell, "1984"

"The United States is viewed as a major national threat—taking a place alongside the Islamic State militant group (ISIS), global climate change and cyberattacks—by majority of citizens from seven countries, including some long-standing American military allies, according to a 38-country Pew Research Center survey released Tuesday."

I'm not sure Bernie can make it until 2020. If he does and he won, he would take office at nearly 80. Not to many 80 year old's are functioning well enough for the trials of Presidency. The part I find funny is that the Democrats are turning into the party of old white people. Which is ironic since the main jab against McCain when he ran against Obama, was old white guy.

Just because you disagree with it doesn't make it unAmerican.

Even better, maybe Democrats could find some one 90 years old, even 100.

I voted for him over Hillary, but I was smart enough to know neither of them were strong candidates. There were very good reasons that Democrats did not pick him, just as there were very good reasons Dems did not pick Hillary over Obama. The real thing Bernie had going, was that he was the only one standing after Iowa for anti-Hillary voters to vote for and he was 'anti-establishment' whatever that means. Well Trump will have damaged that brand for a long while. Democrats WILL NOT select someone as the standard-bearer of our party, who is not loyal to our party and is not even a member of our party. He is a democratic socialist and he will be brutalized in the general as too far to the left for most Americans. We did not pick Dennis Kucinich, or Jesse Jackson, or Governor 'Moonbeam' either., We need to stop running last years losers as our next winner. We made that mistake this time.

    I do.

Yet you can afford your bloated military budget. Hypocrite!
Because they vote in politicians that allow criminal behaviour from unscrupulous and corrupt corporations and businesses.
You seem to be mixing up the Federal Debt with Budget Deficit. Anyway look no further than here.

Nothing to do with Bernie. In fact he has stated to deter this.
There are some very rich people in your country that got extremely richer when the debt crisis was going on. Follow the trail.

If the Dems go "Old School" in 2020, it will be Biden in a rout.

To truly believe that the center is left, is ignorance. FDR is SOLELY to blame for our current predicament, as his Presidency literally destroyed American democracy.

Since I assume you've been kicked in the head by a horse or suffered other blunt force trauma, I will make sure to make this perfectly clear-if not for FDR getting elected to the House of Representatives would run about $5,000 and give clear advantage to those actually doing good by their communities.

Every single year the Department of Defense, with just $600 billion in funding, employs more people than Walmart, at a prevailing wage with benefits, employs more mentally and physically disabled Americans than any other entity, directly supports 10 PERCENT OF AMERICAN MANUFACTURING, and lifts MILLIONS OF AMERICANS OUT OF POVERTY every single year.

Cutting $40 billion from defense spending per year would immediately increase unemployment by 1%, and the public spending in health care and education dwarf defense spending.
