    Why would anyone bother?

Tired of working on disproving the existence of Fairies and Unicorns? ;)

Yours is one of the best explanations I have seen, however I don't think anything can be "non-dual" other than the state of pre-existence. If we could get there we would not be able to bring it back to talk about it or even remember it.

I am totally unaware of religion ever leading anyone in the everyday world into any such as "subtle realities". The masses are only concerned with death and getting to heaven. I left religion and became an atheist because religion did not answer my questions. I wanted to know about those "mysteries" that I had heard about and they didn't tell me. I had to look elsewhere.

The nondual nature of reality is what's already taking place and we are constantly over-looking it. Sometimes the hardest thing to see is what's most obvious...and nonduality isn't just hiding in plain sight, it is plain sight. It's what is being used to look for nonduality and paradoxically it doesn't have to go anywhere or do anything to find it, because obviously it already is it. It's just a matter of noticing that the perceived is made of the same substance as what is perceiving it.

Meditative and contemplative practices enable one to cognize these ever-present levels of reality. You are right that it is immpossible to 'remember' in it's totality...since it is not like a mental concept (it's just impossible to wrap the mind around it) but the mind can still stand in awe so to speak, and fully understand it's out of it's element but it will still inevitably interpret it through whatever cultural framework it is familiar with (of course religion acts as the 'culture' for spiritual experiences to be processed and understood.)

Much of the religious material we see today is pre-modern interpretations of these spiritual realities...and they understood them by the only interpretive means available to them...archaic stages of psychological development. The problem is that these modes of interpreting these realities are outdated for a large portion of the world.

This is the first time in history that all of the world's wisdom traditions are available to us...in this way we can see what they all have in common and with modern insight and science we can trim away the unnecassary pre-modern baggage and superstition and focus on the awakening, deepening and maintaining of these spiritual properties of existence, if one so desires.

Yes, many of the religious are mostly concerned with getting to heaven (as they perceive it) or just how they can possibly use religious principles to give them an edge over others and manifest their personal desires and are not willing to do the nitty gritty work to enable authentic spiritual progression and transformation to occur. Many of the most fundamental and pompous 'religious' have not really experienced or realized these spiritual realities, atleast their actions and attitudes don't reflect it.

Science can show you objective reality from a third person perspective. Spirituality studies subjective reality from a first person perspective, and they are not mutually exclusive but together form an integrated and comprehensive view of reality. But undertaking a meditative or contemplative practice is basically essential to making these spiritual realizations occur.

Religion can't be disproven anymore than the existence of god can be proven. It relies on faith, and exists outside of the laws of nature. So, science, which relies on the laws of nature, and direct observation, can not disprove the existence of god.

It could be very well that there is a god, and that he exists on another plane of existence. It can't be disproven completely.

However, most events in the world have a scientific explaination. Then again, that could simply mean that the deists are right, and that god simply put nature in place and left it to run itself, which would again be unprovable, but would explain why science explains most things.

Even if we could disprove everything about every described god or gods, there is always a chance of something we do not know existing or existed. It may not fit into our description of a god or creator. I am an atheist and I don't believe such a creator or god exists but if evidence were to suggest otherwise then my mind would change.

The simple way to prove a religion is prove the religions facts can be checked. I 100% believe in Confucianism we know more than enough to know the philosophical faith is true, I may deny some of the elements of the afterlife but its a faith and religion that cannot be refuted for the elements of philosophy and application of these to a system. Neo-Confucianism would be the more updated and again is known.

Lets look at the Torah texts there has not been any evidence of major event which would have evidence for using Archeology an established science. That makes believing faiths using that questionable to me.

Nope. And that is the issue it will always boil down to a game of circles of "Prove God exists, prove God doesn't exist".

Kinda like me saying that I can morph into a Werewolf at night. Everybody from Biologists, Zoologists, Veterinarians, and Doctors can provide hard evidence as to why that claim has about a 99.9% chance of being false but they can never actually PROVE that I can't. And when they tell me to prove it all I have to do is say no.

This probably belongs in one of those questions for Christians threads but I have always wondered why God doesn't just appear one day. I mean humans have been trying to find natural ways for all of this to have occurred and we are making some decent progress. It has already been shown through Astrophysics and some seriously complex mathematics how the Universe could actually have just "happened". Why doesn't God just show up and say "Nope, that was me, stop wasting all of your time now".

I understand the whole faith thing and God wants you to have faith in him but what better way to convince me to believe than to simply show up and tell me you are actually there? Why all of the subliminal messages that can be easily discounted as natural occurrences and coincidences.

The correct question is: can a creator god ever prove that it exists? So far the answer is NO.

    You now what?

    You can't prove logic.

    you can only argue it.

And just because somebody has a more eloquent or factual argument doesn't mean that it still is a true argument either.

Just the insanity that is logic.

    BAN LOGIC!
