So let’s just say, because you don’t care as stated in other posts, that Trump quit going to Mara Lago and started going to let’s say another resort that he didn’t own. Let’s say the cost of the rooms is now $1200 a night, would you be OK with that? Or would you start screaming, “Trump is funneling money into one of his cronies who owns the resort!” I think we both know the answer to that.

The people who want Medicare for All and the Green New Deal are asking if the US taxpayer can afford a Trump presidency?

    That's hilarious.

Last I looked at the National Debt Clock we couldn't afford our entire federal government. What do you propose to do about THAT???

Stick taxpayers with another $125 TRILLION in government spending...:blownose:

I would think it is wasteful but not corrupt.

I didn’t begrudge GWB when I saw his helicopter flying to Camp David on Friday afternoons. The president gets some perks.

But one of those perks should NOT be to shovel taxpayer money into his own pocket.

What is the Democratic party holding to force tax payers to pay for their personal gain.

Not a good "whataboutism," in fact, no where even close to the topic, and if you are so concerned about the debt how can you approve of Trump personally profiting off of the American taxpayer?

Same as reps. One common way is to become a lobbyist and latch your clients to the tax payers teet. Its the only position where one can claim to be a public servant and end up wealthy at the end.

Another one who missed the point, Trump making money with his hundreds of golf junkets nearly solely to his resorts is no where comparable to Bush flying off to Camp David, Bush wasn't profiting off of his trips, Trump is, and by the frequency of Trump's trips, it isn't by coincidence

You may not like it, but it most definitely is on-topic because it points to the absurdity of the question you posed in your OP.

You mean like Biden renting his cottage to the Secret Service?

Agreed. I don’t begrudge the cost per se (although Trump is wracking up more cost than others, so that is wasteful) - I object to Trump’s corruption.

Has anyone showed that Trump has required his security detail to stay in his rented rooms? I would think that to be a key piece of your allegation.

I have to dismiss anyone who gives the Bidens a pass while criticizing Trump about corruption.

The fact is, filling family coffers with taxpayer dollars has been the primary activity of elected DC cockroaches for decades, and Trump renting hotel rooms to his SS detail is the least of the problem.

That's fine, but that still doesn't explain why Trump is making money by holding govt meetings at his hotels. He and everyone knows better, no need to make excuses for it, it needs to stop now.

So can you show the growth in his net worth since taking office?

What's his net worth got to do with it? He has a history of going bankrupt. Do you expect the tax payer to prop up his other businesses too?

Sometimes people project an image of themselves as interested in fair play. Trump has their attention while hundreds who enter office with nothing only to use their office to get rich, are ignored.

Since you asked, this president is less harmful to tax payers. While he is still a thief, he is less of a thief than the other party. Its close!

That is a pathetic excuse for what Trump is doing. I am sure when the political tables are turned, the very same posters are going to their panties in a bunch.

You must admire Trump to emulate him as you do. Cheap insults aside, they are ALL abusing their positions for personal gain. The only way to fight corruption is to reduce the amount of money they control. Even those wearing breathable boxer-briefs may resent our government stealing from them. Your sexist jab is noted!
