Actually gun sales have significantly decreased since Novemeber 9th, 2016.

Except in California.

I just don't see Donald Trump becoming the best gun salesman in America and the world, Obama held that record for nine straight years in a row.

I normally don't listen to the Bill Handel show in the morning because I don't like Bill Handel but this morning at 6:30 I did turn on my radio just to make sure that the thugs didn't burn down L.A. while I was asleep.

 

They arent honest, thats the part the gun grabbers refuse to admit because it disproves their argument.

Agree 100%. The vast majority of violent crime committed in this country, is committed by people with a history of violence. If stopping the violence is our goal, then a zero tolerance policy towards the violent is necessary.

 

You want honest? Okay here's honest.

Crimes deterred by a gun in most cases are never reported. The criminal is scared off either before entering and the gun owner doesn't get a good look. So even though the gun proved useful it does not become a statistic for crime fighting purposes.

When things go badly, the media is right there to let us all know, so by appearances, guns are only a problem.

I have witnessed over 100 such debates and although it is supposedly a factual debate, it is solely driven by emotions.

All I can do is keep voting for pro gun politicians who in turn will hopelly appoint pro gun judges

The two ideas are not mutually exclusive.

 

By the same logic, "The People, through their elected Representatives, have the right" to restrict all of your rights under the Constitution. There's a line between preventing intentional or negligent harm to others and being dictatorial. All too often, the anti-gunners want to claim they want legislation that is to prevent harm but in reality they are simply stepping all over the rights of "We, the People" and passing authoritarian legislation "for their own good".

OTOH, there is an old quote from Robert Heinlein:

"Well, in the first place an armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life. For me, politeness is a sine qua non of civilization."

 

Based on experience, when the police come knocking looking to confiscate your guns, there is no recourse. Either capitulate or be killed. We went through this in 1997.

I truly hope you are able to preserve your freedoms. I side with Machiavelli on gun rights: there can be no Republic if the people are not armed.

 

I'm actually in favor of firearms training being put back into high schools, but as an elective. I would prefer it more in middle school level, but I'll take what I can get.

 

Something certain people will NEVER acknowledge. They want stats for EVERYTHING to prove their point, but its something that simply isn't available. And the usual response is, "if there's no report, it didn't happen." Yeah OK...and unreported sexual harassment "doesn't happen" either=) Funny how Liberals are on opposite sides when it comes to needing proof to believe it.
