You mean like the Trump Republicans are doing now with the impeachment charges--establishing new precedents for acceptable misbehavior?

Or the democrats who have set up those double standards (which apply to Trump but not to Biden for example) and are demonstrating misbehavior on a previously unknown scale in politics??

And it does set precedents. It lowers the bar- and the bar was already too damn low for all politicians.

    Something to think about.
Congress consists of 535 members. Congress is the only institution with the power to police itself- to actually remove a member. Some have been convicted of felonies while in office. Nearly all were active in the insider trading conduct revealed a few years ago by CBS. Nearly all have violated their oath of office, their ethics and their fiduciary duties- not once, but almost everyday.

That is the congress that wants to impeach Trump and has little to no real evidence. It is also the congress responsible to clean it's own house- but has only seen fit to remove TWO members- Since the end of the civil war in 1865. That's 150 years, and they have only thrown out two. That is more than job security- that's protecting each other because they are ALL guilty of something. The approval rating of congress at it's best in recent history is less than half of Trump's worst..... But these are the people telling us they are the real Americans, fighting the good fight. BULLPUCKEY.

IF you can't see the problem- you are PART of the problem.
And you do know that what I spoke to was true. Only the densest and dumbest of the left don't know that.

Let me start off by saying I am mixed race as my avatar shows. My dna test showed me 92% English 8% Irish but logically and from a looks perspective I probably have Jewish, African , and native ancestry. Whites are my favorite race... however does America really need to be all white to be right?
Minorities are cool too. It would be cruel to walk off Mexicans wanting to work hard from coming here.

    1. I agree that there are some shady characters in Congress, both Republican & Democrat. But I disagree that the entire Congress is culpable. I'm not seeing that double standard between Trump & Biden. Both have been investigated by several intelligence agencies. Every agency that has investigated Biden has reported no evidence to support charges against him. But Trump is a different matter entirely.
    2. I agree with you on #2.
3 & 5. I partially agree, but not entirely. Perhaps only two members of Congress have ever been kicked out of office by their Congressional peers officially, but I know more than that have been convince to give up their seats voluntarily due to pressure from their peers. I think longevity in office may contribute to malfeasance in office, so I support term limits for all elected officials. I also believe that fund raising is a source of major concern, & we should set up governmental funding for all political campaigns with all of them having to stay within that public funding during their campaigns, with no private fundraising allowed.
    4. Actually, the evidence is overwhelming. It's enough evidence for any prosecutor to win with in any court in America. The problem isn't lack of evidence. The problem is political interference with the law. Republican Senate leaders have already made public statements to the effect that they have already decided the verdict, & won't personally bother to even look at the evidence provided by the House regarding the issues. How can that be regarded as fulfilling their oaths of office, promising to uphold the U.S. Constitution? It isn't. They are abandoning the Constitution for temporary political gain. The founding fathers would be sickened by their behavior.
Personally, I'm tired of all the discord, conflict, meanness, & distrust afflicting our nation today. Most of that is manufactured by self-promoting parties who care only about winning their personal points, but care nothing whatsoever about the country as a whole or its people. We are no different in our political opinions today than our predecessors, but they were able to work their differences out peacefully, for the benefit of the whole. We should be able to do the same. The answer isn't in continuing the conflict. The answer is to see each other as brothers & sisters in the same culture. The answer is to recognize our common ground is larger than our differences, & focus on that rather than the smaller things that divide us. ALL our differences are resolvable in a peaceful & constructive manner. We need to make that happen.
