The fairness doctrine did not just require equal time, it also required truth in what was said. You could not go on the public airwaves and say whatever you want without reprocussion. Thats the one thing that most people miss about what it really was.

With he plethora of outlets and mediums to get information, I’m not really sure we need the “equal time” clauses, but we have to find a way to get truth back into the conversations were having, and in what our leaders are allowed to say. This goes way beyond libel laws, this needs to be regulated ON BOTH SIDES, because what we have now is just lies designed to divide the country.

There is none. I was replying to your comment not the topic. Point being that Fox might run some stupid stuff but at any given time of day or night I can open any left wing news website and find something 100x more asinine without having to deep dive below the metaphorical fold.

 

I don't know if you've noticed, but Fox News exists to sow outrage. Take any Fox content, whether it's news on TV or one of their news articles online. Tell me you don't feel outraged. Because if you don't feel outraged at something after reading or watching Fox News, then they failed at reporting. It's their entire reason for existence.

Of the number of things I could feel about this outrage is barely registering; the same goes for disappointment, concern, and/or pity. At this point the only thing I feel is apathy.

Brandon was clinically unfit before his Presidential campaign even started. The DNC knew it but rightly concluded that the closest thing they had to pedigree in the entire Democrat roster was Obama's VP. Brandon was repeatedly kept out of the media spotlight for weeks at a time during the heat of the Presidential campaign -something never before seen in modern politics- specifically because his rampant dementia would so commonly present itself. Since becoming President there hasn't been a presser nor public event where staffers (including the 1st Lady) haven't been actively herding both media members and Brandon less he be given even 5 seconds to either hurl moronic confusion-born rage at reporters asking common questions, or, fall into the sort of unintelligible episodic impairment events we've grown so accustom to seeing in this President. In the past two years we've witnessed reporters physically shoved from rooms with haste the moment Brandon succumbs to senility, we've seen Brandon holding cue cards reminding him to sit down in a chair, we've seen large X's taped to the floor so Brandon knows where to stand, we've seen him shake hands with thin air and look around for dead people, we've seen the 1st Lady have to show him how to walk - and we see these things, and more, on a regular basis.

So the fact that these events happen pretty much -and I'm not exaggerating even a little here- pretty much every single time Brandon steps out of his bedroom... I'm no longer outraged by them nor any Fox News article that chronicles their many, many, many occurrences.

 

As long as we can have the head of the FCC no problem.
