Listen, I am as appalled by my own governments track record and hypocrisy on environmental issues as any one else. At least the conservatives are honest about rape and pillage. Trudeau talks out of both sides of his mouth on the issue and then promotes the same policies that got us here in the first place. He even bought a *******ned pipeline expansion while he yammers on about climate change.

We act like we are these big stewards of the Earth but the truth is that we just have so much land it's hard to destroy it all - not that they aren't trying.

But, you know, I've been involved in protests and advocating to protect sensitive and threatened habitats and ecosystems like the Willmore wilderness and Clayoquot Sound since I was in my twenties and it's an uphill battel - let me tell you. You are up against well-funded lobby groups and industrial leaders who attack any regulation with the resources at their disposal - which are considerable. Still, we get things done and habitat is protected - slowly.

But Canada is basically just a vassal state of the corporate empire. How many truly Canadian corporations are there? I can think of two just off the top of my head. So our record on resource extraction and consumption is just a continuation of what happens everywhere else and we are beholden to the same system of economics that is rammed down out throats as the natural way of things that everyone else is.

And if Trudeau continues bumbling his way to election defeat this year, then you will get another conservative government that could't care less about the environment and we will have the same corporate attitude you have down there of destroying environmental regulations and opening up wilderness reserves and sensitive habitats for drilling and exploitation.

So now that I know you are concerned about the environment, I know you will want to do everything in your power to bring down these right-wing, conservative governments that are threatening the entire planet with exhaustion and environmental ruin in order to profit a few corporations.

I think NATO can turn a blind eye to an aggressor (Canada sent the trash and didn't pick it up) who only pays 1.23% of GPD on defense like it was some ungrateful European country.

Trudeau is a democratic leader and it does not matter if you like him or not, because he is friendly to the EU and, for example, has launched CETA with ... known to you generally ... evil EU.
Unlike the other gentleman, who sits a little further south as a boss in a white painted house, Trudeau still has something in mind that calls itself brain and how to use it.

For a country like the Philippines to threaten a major military force like Canada is just insanity. The Philippines Army is still using World War 2-- 105-mm towed howitzers that are 70 years old. They don't even have shoulder-mounted rocket launchers. They have some armored vehicles but it would be pretty hard to get them to Canada from the Philippines. Their total military personnel is around 305,000 with only 125,000 active and 180,000 reserve personnel.

Rodrigo Duterte is a crazy person and will threaten anyone even Canada who is a NATO member. Any military offensive attacks on Canada by the Philippines would immediately be squashed. Canada is a fair-minded and logical country under Trudeau and I'm sure if the Philippines received Canada's recycles accidentally that they will make arrangements to remedy the mistake quickly.
