The only reason attempts at suicide fail, are because the individuals making the attempt are not truly suicidal to begin with. Nor does it explain how leaping from a tall building, or being struck by a motor vehicle, is less successful, or less lethal than utilizing a firearm.

 

But what are the chances of being at a train station when the impulse to commit suicide strikes?
