Ahh we didn't need 30,000 ventilators thank god and the vaccines coming could eliminate Covid. Most people didn't go to the hospital. Even today you have a 99.5% chance of not dying from Covid if you live in America. Trump just may have better sources than you. That's life.

A decision to take the vaccine should be based on recommendations from your doctors and subject matter experts. Your assumptions are based on what? Are you a subject matter expert?

In other words, the OP Article gives the Exact Opposite of the (apparently intended) Pro-Trump Narrative? :roflol:

    That is hilarious.

That is really open-minded for an (apparent) Trump supporter to post an article that Admits that:

“It gives the appearance of a stunt rather than an expression of public health concern,”

That is really some good lookin' out.:salute:

Biden, like a good Dem, thinks first and foremost about racism. Ergo, this Biden solution for Covid-19 that will really accomplish a lot (sarcasm).

Establish a COVID-19 Racial and Ethnic Disparities Task Force, as proposed by Senator Harris, to provide recommendations and oversight on disparities in the public health and economic response. At the end of this health crisis, it will transition to a permanent Infectious Disease Racial Disparities Task Force.

If it is half as successful as most of his scientific achievements it will be here long after he has turned to cheeto dust.

Come on, AJ, I'm sitting in a boring ass conference where I am one of the lower people on the management totem pole. I can act like I'm checking and responding to an important email on my phone, but I can't take for ever and act like my attention is completely taken away from a VP who is lecturing us. After all, I have to work in order to support those who AOC says doesn't have to.

I live in NYC. Even better than 99.5% chance of not dying thanks to the Blue, liberal, Democratic state government.
    That's my life, thank god.

Coming from someone that struggles with truth I will take your opinion with a grain of salt.

And you have no idea what a anti-vax is if you believe they don’t like them because they haven’t been put through appropriate clinical trials.
Like I said, struggling with facts seem to be an issue for some.

But please, take your shot, first in line, I will wait a few months and make my own determination.

If everyone had the same thought, no one would take the vaccines. Thing is, nothing's perfect and it wouldn't have been perfect if we took longer.

But it beats being shutdown forever or catching the original bug and letting it wreck havoc on our bodies.

So yeah, I'm going to get a shot.

Folks, we all need to chill out. The possibility of the availability of maybe several vaccines in record time is a testament to the advancement of science. It has nothing to do with politics. There is no "Trump vaccine". Trump just threw 100s of billions of dollars onto the problem, allowing companies to start mass producing before trials were completed and efficacy was known. Hillary would have done the same were she president, but then conservatives would have whined about the deficit.

In any case, I'd take Trump for another 4 years in exchange for a working vaccine in October. If we roll it out before the election, that even may make Trump fans get vaccinated, which otherwise they may refuse. I'll be the first to take the vaccine, when made available to me, even if that would help Trump's re-election success.

Is there any evidence of the trials being altered?

I was under the understanding that they are producing vaccines before they passed trials and as soon as they do, they will release the vaccine and throw away the ones that don't. Usually they wait until trials to produce the vaccine because it's a huge expense to make all that and just throw it away. Basically the government is fast tracking this process by agreeing to cover the expenses of failed trials and all the lost product.

It's both. Phases of clinical trials usually are sequential, but they overlapped for some covid vaccines. Mass production started before clinical trials were completed. Both are actual common sense approaches in an emergency.

If successful, this shows that warp speeding by throwing taxpayer's money at the problem can actually work. Next will be warp speeding renewable energy sources.

A cure is a treatment to a disease state that ends that condition, not prevention.

I have no doubts we have a very serious global pandemic. This is a very important election year so I will continue to be a bit skeptical about a vaccine being ready by November. When something is being rushed, no matter what it is, mistakes tend to increase. Are you really willing to take a vaccine, that was rushed, could end up in the long run being worse than the disease itself just for the sake of politics?

    A "working vaccine by October"?

    Maybe, October 2021.

    The way things stand now:

Large events like big concert tours, and Pro Sports (with packed stadiums) probably won't be happening until 2022.

It would be a major miracle if the USA wasn't in some form of lockdown NEXT Summer.

Who wants to watch pro sports anyway? With all the political propaganda included in professional sports these days, it's no longer relaxing or fun to watch.

So don't trust the scientist now. Dang I'm so confused biden says he'll listen to the scientist, then blames basement on listening to scientist, then miraculously the scientist tell him he can leave said basement for now apparent reason, then scientist say we should have vaccine by November and we shouldn't listen to the scientist. Lefty life's daily mental gymnastics must be exhausting.

Ok since you said it please show us proof that somehow steps were skipped or approved on these vaccines. I get the lip service but I haven't seen one thing since phase 1, 2 or 3 that says any step or test was overlooked or skipped, have you? Are dems becoming antivaxxers that they've trashed for years?

What if the death rate from the vaccine is HIGHER than that of COVID?

It can't be. Democrats have said this is a horrible deadly virus. The vaccine could cause people to go blind or poop neon colors and it's still better than dying, right?

I mean, this virus is so deadly, we had to shut the entire country down.

I have no problem getting vaccinated. I get a flu shop every year and a tetanus shot every 3 years. Both of these vaccines have been around a long time so we know what to expect. Are you willing to take a vaccine that has no historical data? I"m really glad there are folks out there who are willing to take it. They will be able to provide the long term data which is absolutely critical.
