Speak for yourself. Do what you will/must; I'll do the same.

As well they SHOULD be, in my view.

Correct. Even so, homosexuals and those who support homosexual people are indeed RESPONDING to C-f-A's 'freely-expressed' views. I say that is a good thing, in a nation where money equals POLITICAL POWER.

Keeping a few more dollars out of the pockets of bigots, is a good thing for sure.

Of course. But there is nothing set in stone, which says that doing so must not lead to 'consequences'. If Mr. Cathy wants to associate his corporation with anti-gay causes, then he will surely bear the consequences of doing so.

    Amen to that!!

You are absolutely correct, that we WILL knock ourselves out (and more), to cause the incremental victories we are seeking to CHANGE this society. Yeah, a series of small victories over time, are surely worth striving for and counting.

We know that the mechanics of 'protest' are just as important as the protest itself. Do you realize that?

Stop being confused, please. No one is trying to muzzle C-f-A... but we definitely ARE working to mitigate the effects of the POLITICS Cathy and his company would surely unleash upon homosexual people, fueled by the money he will invest in certain politicians.

So, eat all of the food you want... just keep in mind that some of us will promote the idea that eating there at C-f-A, isn't really a good thing.

come on Johnny, you are better than that. Please speak honestly. Of course you want to silence every man woman or child who has a different opinion from the gay movement. If that was not the case then the gay army would not be doing what they do, you included.

No rights are denied to patrons or employees but look at what is going on. This is the continued push to legislate thought and acceptance and is nothing more than that. And, for that reason, it's why you continue to fail. This forum is not reflective of America and the 30 states show that.

So, go get your waffle fries like everyone else. The CEO could care less if you sleep with Bob or Roberta, he just wants your money.

I'm here already, and this isn't some contest. I said exactly what I meant to say.

    (Please, see the above)

    1. Prove that.
    2. Please stop lying.

Who is the "gay army"? And what 'exactly' are they "doing"? I will tell you now, I decided to oppose C-f-A's homophobic association on my own as a single American citizen. That decision wasn't based upon some hive-like mindset. When I see that certain individuals or groups have decided to be against homosexual people, that gets my attention period. I'm not the only person who thinks that way; so, that you have seen MANY respond negatively to the position which C-f-A has taken is not about any "army"... it's mostly individuals seeing that something MUST be said and done.

If Chic-fil-A wants to ASSOCIATE their brand with anti-homosexual causes, it WILL cause them some suffering as a corporation. There is nothing hard to understand about that.

And yes, it is that corporation's choice/freedom to do so. Corporations affect PEOPLE, my friend. (As Gov. Etch-A-Sketch might say.)

Of course those homosexual human beings are going to ADVOCATE for equal rights, but certainly acceptance would be nice (but hardly as essential as the former).

You aren't paying attention to reality; there have been a series of battles and homosexual people have not lost them all. You think they should just give up? They're HUMAN, so don't expect them to.

This forum is quite reflective of America, but not perfectly so. And the narrow-minded, bigoted legislation of certain "states" doesn't define things for ALL people and ALL of time. Things can/will change. Bet on it.

One more 'waffle fry' purchased, is (to me) a vote for continued corporate oppression. Money = political power in this world; so, don't expect homosexual people and their advocates to place shackles upon their own feet. People should definitely think about NOT eating at Chic-fil-A.

You make your points your way (eat all of that food you might want to)... I and others will do as we believe we must. The "CEO" makes his choices and endures consequences, just as we all do.

Hmm... How did you feel about the boycott of Toys R Us with the comic? Starbucks? How about the other top Fortune 500 companies that have supported marriage equality?

Odd that many were calling for nation wide boycotts of those and many here agreed, did you come out in defense of the "thought police" or were you siding with the free speech you are so quick to turn on when it suits you?

No one is trying to control thought on this issue (maybe some crazed liberals and politicians excluded) instead people are tired of being told they are damming the country. I do not see how homosexuals could do any more damage to marriage than the self professed holier than though crowd has already done. Ego much?

As for your "gay army" comment - while there are some militant homosexuals (just as there are some militant heterosexuals/bible thumpers) most are average people that are not calling for a boycott - most just do not want to support an establishment that does not support them. Funny how you all for freedom as long as you support the cause; when you don't it's basically **** and eat your fries.

I for one will not give another cent to Chic fil A, , I know several straight friends that feel the same way - I know several gay people that do not care because they have pretty good food. Ain't America grand - we get to eat what and where we want... At least until someone uses the president sent by Obamacare to control that too :bomb:

I bought a wooden swing/play set recently from Toys R Us...........so what. I don't get my bowels all in an uproar like you gay folks do when someone has a different opinion than mine.

Homosexual people DO have some basic (legal) rights to fight for, so don't expect them to be casual when they are attacked. You can do what you must; no one is stopping you.

So gay people were the ones calling for the boycotts of Toys R US? Seems like the radical straights are the ones you are referring to... Do you really expect people to just nod and agree when a company says they will bring God's wrath down upon the country? Opinions are fine - but don't be so naive to think that people will not notice (and act accordingly) when you ridicule them. Your generalizing shows your bias - I know many "gay folks" that do not give a flying (*)(*)(*)(*) about this - I know many straight folk that are more angry than anyone.

so in keeping with the theme of the thread, has Chick Fil A denied food to any homosexual person? Your faux outrage really gets tiresome

No, you DO NOT understand... I am AGAINST Chic-fil-A period. And the reason is the views of that corporation's CEO.

Oh yeah, you can imagine that my outrage is false, but that assumption would be very wrong.

The less money that guy gets into Dan Cathy's hands... the better for homosexual people in America (nationwide).

Nah, seeking to affect C-f-A in light of what Cathy said, isn't wrong to do. You can't blame gay people for being offended here.

Since that is the sacred cow with gay folks I understand their being offended. What I will never understand is the instant call to arms for boycott and the cities threatening to hold back permits because of a guys personal beliefs

we have knee jerk reaction from gays and then pandering by liberal politicians; in other words, the same old same old

let's trounce the 1st amendment when we don't like what is being said

No one gagged Cathy and he was not coerced into speaking. (That is the bottom line.)

If Cathy said he loves gay marriage, and then Menino came forward and said CHick Fil A was not welcome because of that, would you be outraged at Menino?

You really need to get your sniff test in check and stop looking at everything through the gay spectrum. If it doesn't pass the sniff test for everyone then it's wrong

and please spare me the marriage retort, we have a gazillion threads here on that tiresome topic

Yes I would be, I am also outraged that some liberal politicians are attempt to block chic fil a from being built in their cities - again, more government is not the answer.

Your "militant gays" ang "gay army" is getting old and shows your complete bias on the subject. How can you not understand when someone is offended they will act accordingly. You are being purposely ignorant. Yes gay people are offended - some are calling for a boycott - some are actually boycotting - some dont give a (*)(*)(*)(*).

The CEO has the right to say whatever the hell he likes - I have the right to boycott, picket, send out fliers, hold rallies, ect.

You only like freedom when it is in your corner - it swings both way. Your outrage about the permits should not be directed at gay people as it is HETEROSEXUAL liberal politicians that are (as usual) overstepping their authority. Just like they did with DADT - just like they are doing with DOMA. Politicians no longer speak for the people, instead they pander to what they think their base wants.

Co-worker fought the crowd to eat lunch at Chick Fil A in the downtown tunnel. He said the line was really long and they had a security guard there to prevent line-breakers. Said the crowd was friendly and upbeat... and the guard told him, "You should've been here an hour ago when the line was 3 times longer than this!"

YAY!! Luv it that they're being supported by Americans who still believe in free speech.

(My co-worker is leaving his empty Chick fil A cup sitting on his desk... luv that too!) ;)
