So now my question to you is, "irrelevant, irrational, and illogical", according to you? This topic is about Christian influence in society. Your tangent is about global warming and science. So I asked: "If God created the earth and everything in it for the good of man. And if the increase of science allowed us to mine and create the machinery and extract the oil from the earth to power the machinery. Then where did we go wrong?"
My question to you seems relevant, rational, and logical to me, in that it involves God, science, society, and global warming/climate change.

Clearly everything in the earth is not for the good of man ... this is a false assumption .. upon which you have based your premise.

Good answer. But I was mainly referring to the metals from which we build machines, the oil to fuel them, and the science that enables us to do so. Which according to global warming activists is the source of all our troubles.

Doesn't have anything to do with God .. one way or the other .. The Earth is ours to do what as we wish .. the idea that God approves or disaproves is preposterous nonsense .. lest the almighty sat with you for Tea the other day and related her thoughts.

The earth is a closed sphere .. makes sense that one can only put so much CO2 before something changes. What is more pressing from an environmental perspective is the Pollution of the Oceans .. which is most likely going to sustain catastrophic damage long before the Ocean submerges parts of Florida due to Global warming.

Fwiw, scuba divers recently discovered what is determined to be by experts, an ancient native American burial site in a formerly fresh water pond peat bog, submerged under twenty feet of water in the Gulf of Mexico off the Florida coast. It is dated at seven thousand years, long before the industrial revolution.

That the earth has been warming and the oceans rising long before the industrial revolution, and that calamity follows every ice age naturally. That's not to say that humans can't mess it up from our end too. But that were we totally benign, it would happen anyway. Our misfortune then is the timing of our existence in the history of the natural world.

So what .. what has that to do with God or the topic of Christian influence/Theocracy ? No idea why you are telling me about climate cycles in the past .. as if this information has some relevance to something we were discussing ..

You mentioned pollution and global warming. I'm just following suit with a marble for your collection. I intended no divine connection. But if your wish, you may.

No .. it was you that brought up a ridiculously false argument -- tyring to connect God with Mans destruction of the environment .. in some desperate attempt to pretend God was OK with this descruction..

Yammering on about past climate cycles will not save your big phat Fallacy and error in logic mate :)

I didn't blame God. Only one to suggest that is you in the above Quote. The idea came from your wonky brain, not mine. In fact, I asked you where WE went wrong, not where did God go wrong. If anything I put the onus on science because following science is what got us here. So maybe WillReadMore was right when he said the problem is that we forgot to bring God with us, thus missing the mark in all things.

Yes you did was you brought God into the conversation .. Said God put everything here for our use so it can't be wrong which is the only "wonky Brain idea" round these parts mate.

Oh ..sans your wonky ideas about climate science .. those are wonky as well .. like with the Bible and religion in \general .. someone talking out backside .. not knowing the material .. yet making bold claims.

I believe the sharp initial rise in average global temperature at the start of the interglacial period is due primarily to the release of stored CO2 in the oceans. If I recall correctly, the oceans can/will store more CO2 when they are cooler. This release of CO2 will continue until an energy balance is reached (heat generated vs heat released), at which time average global temperature will begin to level off. But this is only what I can remember from years ago, and no doubt there are many other natural forces at play here that aid in raising global temperatures (lessening albedo, increasing vegetation, etc.), with increasing atmospheric CO2 being the primary one. Perhaps I'll re-educate myself on this and get back to you, as I'm sure they know more now than they did years ago.

One cannot help but see the resemblance between birds and reptiles. Look at the bone structure (including a breast bone), scaly skin, eye position, reproduction (egg-laying), and other features. There does appear to be a convincing evolutionary link between the two species.
