I'm sorry you are having difficulty understanding this.
I am not denying anything Jesus said..

King David was an adulterer and a murderer.
He murdered one of his best soldiers because he wanted to have sex with the man's wife. Even by his own admission he should have been killed for what he did.
Is he going to hell? Did he do the will of God?

Is there a running tally somewhere? How can we get access to it so we can know how many more good things we need to do?

How about the thief crusified next to Jesus?
The only act he could do from the cross was to believe Jesus. On the basis of that faith alone Jesus says to him " today you will be with me in paradise ".

There is more to the bible andveven more to Jesus than the sermon on the mount.

It is faith in Jesus that saves and that faith leads to the works that Jesus talks about.

The pharasies, kept God's laws as perfect as anyone in history ever has, apart from Jesus of course. But Jesus says. "Unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees you'll be no means enter the kingdom of God"
Why? Because they didn't believe Jesus.

    Everything starts with believing Jesus.

Call it gibberish all you want but that's what the bible and Jesus, taught.

Goid works apart from believing Jesus have no bearing on salvation, there are people that don't even believe there was a Jesus that feed the homeless, don't murder, don't commit adultery, but not because they believe Jesus. They going to heaven?

Everything begins with believing Jesus. That believing leads to doing what Jesus says..

This is the theme of the whole bible.

God promised Abraham that he woukd be the father of many nations while he had no children and was very old. He believed God.

After his sonvwas born God told him to go sacrifice his only son. He trusted God to fulfill His promise even if he killed his own son. So he took his son up the mountain and was about to kill him whrn God intervened.

That is why it is why the bible says
"Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness "

He wasn't righteous because he was going to sacrifice his son. He was righteous because he believed God.

Believing God again is the starting point for everything.

But you are Robert - you are denying what Jesus said. Its like if Jesus said - the world is round - and I say "Jesus said the world is round" - and you come back with "that's your interpretation" and maintain that Jesus said the world is flat.

Jesus states plainly Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.

This statement comes directly after "The will of the Father" - and it is what the "therefore" is referring to - obviously.

What "words of mine" is Jesus referring to ? Obviously Jesus is referring to the sermon he just gave.

You are in denial of this obvious fact - and thus you are in denial of the words of Jesus.

There was no character named "Jesus" until 1631. So he has only existed for 388 years.

    That's a bunch of poppycock.

In the way you describe faith, you make it sound like it's some sort of natural ability that one can exercise. All it is is forced ignorance. Don't believe what you senses tell you, just "accept". If that isn't mind control, I don't know what is.
