Last place CNN’s already humiliating ratings nosedived by double digits last week.

Even more than usual, some ten days ago the far-left CNN launched a 24/7 jihad against President Trump, going so far as to question his mental health, his patriotism, blaming him for a mass murder in New Zealand, and serial lying about his response to Charlottesville. But this unhinged hate campaign obviously turned off a considerable number of Americans.

The fall of the MSM is something to behold.

CNN has removed all doubt that it is a joke of a network.

And viewers are tuning out as a result.

    So what?

In general, in the internet age, people watch less TV news.

    Is that some stunning revelation?

As far as CNN (and the subject of the OP):

When CNN lays off their on-air staff and declares bankruptcy (and dissolves the network) get back to me.

    Thanks in advance.

    Until then?:bored:

Well, didnt take long to win that thread..

Millions question Trumps mental health everyday.. why shouldn't CNN report on the issues Americans are wondering about??

Because viewership equals more advertisers which means more revenue.

Without revenue they can't pay the bills and CNN doesn't have a lineup of shows like MSNBC does to fall back on.

What this shows is a general rejection of liberal behavior.

I don't see FOX struggling with ratings.

    But CNN is.

Put 2 and 2 together here.

According to Ted Koppel, the New York Times and the WaPo have also become a joke.

That only means that CNN is catering to the lowest common denominator and the ratings show it. Most people tune in to become better informed and these people are moving over to Fox, a far superior network.

Thats very likely the case. CNN has been widely criticized for its lack of real journalism.

Some even see it as fake news.

CNN really is a low-info "News" channel.

Fox dropped from a high average of 620,000 viewers at the start of 2017 to 472,000 average viewers (Prime time per day) in 2018 .
CNN went from 510,000 viewers to 370,000 viewers over the same time period.
Interestingly, MSNBC went from 320,000 viewers to 389,000 viewers over that same time period.

When do you think CNN will start reporting on the things the other millions are wondering about? I guess they aren't interested in that audience.

Perhaps CNN needs to inform its viewers that it wasn't Russia...

Last 5 years, both CNBC and CNN have gained more viewers than Fox, though Fox still has the most viewers during Prime time.
2014 - Fox averaged 1.8 million viewers which had risen to 2.2 million viewers during Prime Time at the end of 2018.
2014 - CNN averaged .5 million viewers which has risen to 1.1 million viewers over the same time.
2014 - MSNBC averaged .5 million viewers which has risen to 1.8 million viewers over the same time period.

Just for comparison, The Big Bang Theory gets about 20 million viewers.
And a make-up video posted two weeks ago on YouTube has 8.3 million viewers.
And John Oliver has 5.6 million views on YouTube in just over a day.

    Just say'n...

CNN is a global enterprise. The other two aren't.

Although, I have been overseas when they played segments from Fox News to entertain their audiences with demonstrations of how parochial Americans often are.

Eventually, people stop paying attention to the boy crying wolf. Maybe they will get lucky and Trump will get another piece of tissue stuck to his shoe.

    How true.

Fox News is often used (in other countries) to paint Americans as a laughing stock.

    CNN is internationally respected.

    Faux News? :roflol:

But still my point was that both Fox and NBC have other sustainable income whereas CNN does not.

CNN started as a news network, they innovated it and that's what they relied on but then FOX came along, which was a subsidiary as well as NBC and CBS and ABC all releasing their own versions to compete.

During this competition, in order to compete, FOX and others went right while most went left, to distinguish themselves and CNN was caught in the middle because they were THE NEWS and they didn't know which way to turn.

So viewers gravitated towards the sites that catered to them and CNN has been relying on reputation and history to get them by this far. However they are running out of steam and they made the decision to turn hard left but it's simply way overdone and way too late at this point and unlike the other networks who have other income to carry on poor ratings, CNN does not.
