Naw, the new hyperliberal, mainstream spin will be that Trump himself deliberately sabotaged BuzzFeed with the story! Thus, it was all that dirty bastard Trump's doing! Clever... right?

Still TBD what Mueller has in conflict.... I'm curious

    SNIP
In a statement posted online, Buzzfeed editor-in-chief Ben Smith said: "In response to the statement tonight from the Special Counsel's spokesman: We stand by our reporting and the sources who informed it, and we urge the Special Counsel to make clear what he's disputing."

    "Updated statement from @BuzzFeedNews:
“As we’ve re-confirmed our reporting, we’ve seen no indication that any specific aspect of our story is inaccurate. We remain confident in what we’ve reported, and will share more as we are able.” --Matt Mittenthal, spokesperson."

Buzzfeed is staking everything on this. My bet is that they have the scoop (or at least are sure they do) and they know there may be some inaccuracy that doesn't materially affect the story (maybe Ivanka isn't in the loop, as claimed?). If they get this wrong, they might as well fold up shop.

Organizations don't self-immolate for no good reason, so I'm curious what they think they have.

There are also the careers of the reporters at stake. They are also sticking by their reporting.

If the report was wholly factual, then impeachment would be inevitable. Suborning witness is pretty clear obstruction of justice.

I watched CNN coverage and the discussions of impeachment wrt to this report was always prefaced with "IF it is true THEN".

What this report does remind us all is that there is a ton of stuff the public has NO IDEA about, regardless of partisanship.

I think they have been in similar situations before. They reported something from sources, that was labelled "fake news" that was later to be proven be spot on. The trump tower meeting comes to mind. It will be interesting to see if indeed this is the case this time as well.

I can understand them sticking to their story REGARDLESS, its a darwinian response to defend.

Maybe, but they wouldn't double down like this without an awful good reason.

If Benny has a panic-room in his house, he might want to go there, lock the door, shut his mouth, and plan on staying for a while.... He's got the BIG hyperlib media bosses pissed off at him now, and there's no telling what those people might do....

The is the era of doubling and tripling down on losing hands... They really have little to lose and everything to gain by doing so...

I suspect the gist of the story is true, but something technical with the details is wrong....

I suspect we'll find out on 2/7 with the Cohen testimony to Congress, if not sooner.

They do have a reputation for some straight reporting to lose. They got the nation to collectively hold it's breath for a day. That will be gone if they get this wrong.

I think we'll find out sooner, unless they have some Pulitizer-prize winning scoop.

He opened up a pandora's box and is not willing to close it in spite of how much it puts the Mueller legal team at risk.

A special group at the FBI is currently engaged with investigating the leaking that Baker and McCabe were involved in.

Now Ben is providing, "probable cause," that someone on the Mueller team is leaking to BuzzFeed.

"Liberal Dummies" for $800 Alex... Question: "Which liberal journalist/editor in 2019 was stupid enough to provide the AG with a valid reason to shut down the Mueller probe?" Answer: "Who is Ben from BuzzFeed."

If the president committed a felony as he would have if it can be proven he told his attorney to lie on his behalf regarding the potential building of a TRUMP TOWER IN MOSCOW,then he should and will be impeached. If it can be proven he is using the presidency for the enrichment of himself and his family members that too will be grounds for impeachment. To date we have not heard exactly what in the BuzzFeed story the Mueller investigation disagrees with.

Cable news networks are in the business of making money. Each's goal is to keep the viewership they now have and add more. The more viewers, the more money they can charge for commercials. What is happening is the cable news networks are giving their viewers the news in a way their viewership wants to hear it. Keep their audience happy and keep their audience coming back for more.

fox does the same thing, only their cater their news to a more conservative audience. All of them report news, especially political news in a bias way. then bring on guest to tell the viewers what to think, what they want to hear.

If you get your news from a cable news channel, you're not getting your news in a fair, accurate and full manner. You're getting it from a political perspective, an ideology of which ever news network has. Bias reporting.

"Conservative Idiocy" for $2000... Which AG candidate said under oath - “It is in the best interest of everyone — the president, Congress and, most importantly, the American people — that this matter be resolved by allowing the special counsel to complete his work,”

    You know the answer...

For mueller to speak out you know he must be very pissed. He obviously knows the results of his investigation and I suspect is pissed at how the radical left has hijacked it, in an attempt to undermine the election. His sticking up for trump is a giant sign of things to come.

Im fine with that-just don't call your "journalists" objective and unbiased.

The "journalists" at MSNBC/CNN ARE commentators posing.

Just as the evening "funny guys" are commentators entirely with the same agenda.

It may be that the claim that trump ordered Cohen is true, but in order to "indict" there has to be a lot more documentary evidence to back it up, and in all that stuff they took from the campaign, Cohen's office and Trump Inc offices, there may NOT be any direct evidence to back up that claim decisively. Therefore, to quash any rampant "smoking gun" impeachment discussion, Mueller decided to cast shade on the story.

I wouldn’t say he cast shade, he completely said it was false. He didn’t mix his words.

I was watching CNN last night to see their reaction to the Special Council’s comments. They were almost choking on their words as they had to report on what happened. They kept trying to find a small nail of information that they could hang their Trump hatred on.

Their best bet at this point is to "stand by it" and hope the desperate and low IQ portion of the electorate will keep clicking to them in hopes of something bad on Trump. Eventually, just like the phony Steele dossier they published and stood by long after it was debunked, the story will be forgotten by the low IQ portion of the electorate and they will have gotten away with their sick and disgusting nonsense. Admitting they lied or have bad sources at this point will drive off their remaining low IQ readers.

CBS and Dan Rather. They stood by that story to the bitter end.

The left has been in damage control for the past 20 hours. Many believing Mueller really didn't mean what he said or that he being sneaky in some bizarre way. It was pretty damn clear and Mueller wouldn't put out a statement like that unless the report had major inaccuracies and lies in it. The left is mentally sick. No other way around it.

It appears you are either not familiar with the actual statement or you have a comprehension problem.

"not accurate" is not the same as saying "completely false". and it sure as hell ain't an outright denial.

“BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate.”

Considering the bullshit that trumpettes seem to thrive on, I wouldn't go around complaining about other's IQ.
