CNN mocked for airing segment on Trump's soda consumption while NYC faced terror attack

CNN reminds me of the way Facebook used to be when everyone would post pictures about what they ate for breakfast or what they're drinking or what they just did. Stuff that absolutely nobody else gives a single damn about, except CNN does that about Trump. Soda consumption? Seriously? It's like their employees are all new Facebook users.

 

Who cares what time he defended himself. That's a 10 second tweet vs a news segment. You lose, again.

 

How does a diet coke lead to obesity? Do you even know what the diet part means? It could lead to health problems because of the aspartame that replaces the sugar, but it won't lead to obesity or a stroke. I doubt he drinks that much anyways. CNN probably saw him take 12 drinks from one can and decided to say he drank 12 cans. They're idiots.

 

The public are idiots. Proper journalism focuses on what is actually important. The media focuses on what sells. That’s why CNN focused on attacking Trump and Fox focused on attacking CNN. None of that is important.

I’m still not defending what they actually reported and have repeatedly called it a non-story. It would have been a pointless non-story regardless of whether the attack happened or not though in that scenario, we wouldn’t be talking about it now.

And you agree that is stupid? Do you think they should continue to do the same stupid things? There seems to be an expectation that CNN does that same stupid thing they always do and all the other broadcasters will be doing. There could well be political bias influencing their decisions here but that doesn’t mean doing the stupid thing would have been right. The petty partisan politics has brought up a real issue and I prefer discussing real issues.

CNN Pivots to Coverage on Trump's Diet Coke Consumption Minutes After NYC Attack.....

On Monday, Americans awoke to news of an attempted terrorist attack in New York City. Thankfully, nobody was seriously injured in the attack, which was believed to be a failed suicide bombing carried out by someone inspired by ISIS.

But beyond that, CNN had some really pressing news to report: President Donald Trump sure does drink a whole lot of Diet Cokes, eh?



Apparently, a New York Times report suggests that Trump drinks a dozen cans of Diet Coke a day. Which, while this probably makes Trump's dentist wince a little bit, doesn't seem to be a matter of national security. Nor does this seem like it would be more important than reporting on an attempted terrorist attack in a major American city, but then again, I'm not the one making programming decisions over at CNN.

Hey that's what I drink, too... Just not 12 cans. I buy those Hawaiian Punch powder packets and mix them with cold water at home but they contain the same nutrition facts as my Diet MD. Otherwise I'd probably guzzle down 6 or more cans a day and I'm sooooooo fat too.

 

Maybe CNN should start reporting crack pot conspiracy theories then they will get the respect of the radical right wing.

 

The only way the leftness/weakness of the country will learn. Is for there to be a mass of their kind killed and injured.. Then you wont hear the end of their victimhood.

For years I drank at least a 12 pack of Diet Coke every day, now I'm down to about 4, but I don't crave sugar, I don't even have a sweet tooth. Truth be told, I prefer Arnold Palmers.
