I think your opinion of his post is incorrect.

What is it he said that you dispute? Is there doubt that Cuomo did this?

I think you're obvious bias in favor of CNN is coloring your opinion here.

Some shenanigans? Is that what you call this?

I made no such claim about CNN. I only pointed out they did the right thing with regard to Cuomo. Doing so being in sharp contrast to Faux for doing nothing in response to the egregious indiscretions of their employees.

I think most likely he will be replaced by the talent that abuses himself "livestream" in order to preserve their "journalistic integrity"!

So you seriously believe the right has no business countering "Russia Hoax" and the four years of persecution Trump endured at the hands of the Left Wing Propaganda machine?

You understand the difference between a reporter and an editorialist?

Sean Hannity is an editorialist. He makes on allusions to being a reporter.
Rachel Madcow is an editorialist. It makes no allusions to being a reporter.

Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon, pretty much everyone on CNN: an editorialist posing as a reporter.

Glad I could clear that up for you.

Why Cuomo’s ‘family first’ defense just doesn’t fly
    By Margaret Sullivan

After much dithering, CNN leadership finally did the right thing on Tuesday when it put its star anchor Chris Cuomo on an indefinite suspension from the network.

There was no other choice consistent with even a modicum of journalistic standards after the New York state attorney general released thousands of pages of evidence related to the investigation of sexual misconduct charges by 11 women against former governor Andrew M. Cuomo, the TV host’s older brother.

They revealed just how enmeshed the younger Cuomo had become in trying to save his brother’s career and reputation in the 18 months before he resigned under fire.

Chris Cuomo not only offered advice and participated in strategy sessions with government officials but used his media contacts to run down intelligence about the negative stories planned by other news outlets. Texts suggest he was even helping Cuomo’s top aide dig up information about one of the accusers. . . .

They only " did the right thing " because it came to light. Don't deceive yourself.

Yes, it came to light. As in they learned of new details.

A CNN spokeswoman, in an email to CNBC, said that transcripts and exhibits released by New York Attorney General Letitia James on Monday “shed new light on Chris Cuomo’s involvement in his brother’s defense” and “raise serious questions” for the network, which had not known about the extent of his role.

Still waiting for any of my conservative friends to acknowledge Faux's failure to act in similar circumstances or those that were worse.

And I guess you'll just take their word for it right?

It seems more reasonable that most employers will be at least somewhat aware of what their employees are up to.

There were somewhat aware. Hence the reference to new details.

They actively lie. All day long. They don't report news, they manufacture it. Lots of specifics. Is your goal here having me develop a list for you?

    1. The thread is not about Fox News. Whataboutism is not interesting.
    2. Nutty as Carlson's claims are, they are fully within protected free speech bounds for commentary.
    3. Cuomo's actions were outside ethical bounds.

As the person who started the thread I can assure you that's not correct. But I certainly understand why you don't want it to be what it is. A comparison between Faux and CNN relative to management's actions in response to the journalistic practices of their on air personalities.

For example, what did Faux do in response to the lies their anchors spewed about Dominion? https://www.vox.com/22352213/domini...bs-maria-bartiromo-defamation-first-amendment

They defended it because management allowed unfounded conspiracy theories in support of Trump's Big Lie to be aired.

While not a fan or watcher of CNN or Cuomo, I commend the network on their actions.

Your objection is to Fox News editorial decisions. That's fine but you're mixing apples and oranges.
Bartiromo is not an anchor. She is a commentator. And her statements, false though they may be, are protected free speech and in bounds for commentary.
    Cuomo's transgressions were unethical.

My objection is to Faux management's informed decision to allow overt lies to be broadcast on the air as well as their lack of taking disciplinary action for unethical behavior.
Cuomo's transgressions do indeed appear to be unethical and management has taken the appropriate action.

In a country with free speech, having a different opinion is never unethical.

I find CNN suspending Chris Cuomo very hard to believe. This came as a surprise to me.

I think they reported the news after 1989.. just going from memory but I used to like CNN. These days though .. the "Most Trusted Source in News" doesn't have any news ...its all "editorializing" .. and in the most biased ways -- bout the level of "The Star" ..or "National Enquirer" Still remember suffering through nothing but Stormy Daniels 24/7 .. not just for a day or two ..but for months on end.

Does Fox News deserve the second part of its name? Does it deserve to call itself a news organization? If so — a big if — the cable channel’s brass must discipline its biggest ratings star and apologize to viewers for Sean Hannity’s appalling and undisclosed conflict of interest revealed Monday. Based on everything we know about Fox, and how it handles issues involving ethics, the chances that the network will do the right thing are small. To recap: Hannity has, for months, campaigned on his nightly show against special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of President Trump. When an offshoot of that investigation led to a government raid on Trump lawyer Michael Cohen’s office, Hannity went ballistic, ranting about attorney-client privilege and abuse of power.
But as of Monday afternoon, we know that Cohen’s much-discussed secret third client was Hannity himself.
You don’t need to be an ethics expert to know that this amounts to a conflict of interest, one that clearly required disclosure to Fox viewers. That never happened.
Fox should do the right thing now: It should address the ethical breach in a public statement, apologize to viewers and discipline Hannity.
At any other major news organization, this would be a fireable offense. (Recall, for comparison, that just months ago, CNN forced out three of its journalists for bypassing editorial processes in publishing an article that the network said was flawed.)

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/life...c07680-423f-11e8-bba2-0976a82b05a2_story.html

You appear to be trying to intentionally obfuscate the issue.
