Right you are, they do need 60 votes despite what rahl erroneously keeps telling us.

By the way, my money/property isn't the government's money/property. Keeping more of what I earn doesn't qualify as a "giveaway".

It does not matter whomis at fault but who can tell the better lie. Trump being the Lying King will make himself look like the innocent one.

And all the republicans have to do is negotiate enough that they can get the approval of 9 democrats. Where's the author of "The Art of the Deal"? It sure as hell wasn't trump.

Should we toss you a fish? You're like a barking seal even down to using Trumpite propaganda terms.

I would not object to any DACA breaking the law being deported, even if they are on welfare.
(IF deportation should be the senctence served and so judged on a case by case basis.)

But you get my point; DACA might be in the US for the near future.
You want to cut their welfare (life-support) just because they are DACA?

But perhaps we should let Trump answer that question. (From a good point made by Zorro.)

Do you wish to see Trump "handing out foodstamps" to the poor, yet cutting of same welfare to DACA? (Just because Trump hates them but begrudgingly has to accept them in the country.)

I am making exactly this point because this is exactly what Trump could consider doing. You can bet your life on it he could.
Trump is no better than Vilos Cohaagen from Total Recall.

Cut of all air from the mutants.

The Democrats should stand firm: no way should DACA be deported. Even if it results in a government shutdown.
Let's see how Trump, then, will treat his unwanted.

Blithering Nonsense. Congress makes law. The President executes it. Trump will follow the law as Congress has enacted it. Trump wants a law abiding productive DACA's to remain, but the Bad Hombres, we will launch by catapult over the Big Beautiful Wall that will be constructed the very stable genius that now have in the Whitehouse.

    1. Very few object to that.... DACA kids know they have to be better than the average American... And I suspect 99% of them are fine with that... and by breaking the law, I assume you mean felonies, not misdemeanors...

    2. Excellent... a Total Recall quote.... Now we are digging deep into Movie quotes!! Kudos...

    3. I personally don't understand why ALL bills aren't clean bills... seems to me to be unproductive to try and mix 40 different issues in the same bill.... DACA? Bill 1 Border Security? Bill 2 CHIP? Bill 3 Keep government open? Budget... But I agree that the Democrats should stand firm and expose Trump for not accepting what he said he would, not that his base will notice...

That's a very good point. Dems want to tank the economy and shift the conversation from how well the Trump economy is doing. I can see the conversation shift part, but during the last shut down, Obama actually had his best GDP quarter of that year. Though as Obama was want to do, he generally followed a decent quarter or so with a dog.

I say Schumer wants a shutdown so nothing will reach Trump's desk tonight. All this good news about the economy and the Trump-GOP tax cuts has been bad news for Democrats. While there may be some short term value in that I don't see the long term wisdom in it.

Then again, if McConnell gets his way this kerfuffle will be over by Monday...

We measure success by the number of folks who no longer need food stamps. Trump is faithfully executing the Laws Congress has written on Food Stamps. Unlike Obama who threatened Social Security checks in his government shut down, Trump, being a very Stable Genius would never do such a thing. If the Law Congress wrote states certain persons should receive food stamps, then, that is exactly what Trump has going to do. He has been very consistent on following laws, he doesn't like and even Judicial decisions he views as very unfair.
Blithering nonsense. Don't feed at MSLSD they will rot your mind.
I never made such a claim, it's silly of you to fabricate it and then clumsily attribute it to me. Trump has no desire to deport law-abiding productive DACA's, but he will enforce the law as Congress has written it.
Is that the way current Black Letter Congressional law is written?
You don't have to guess at what Trump will do. Look at the law, passed by Congress, that is what he will do. He's given them plenty of time to change their law, should they desire to do so, but when that time has expired, he is going to enforce the law.

That is the oath every President swears and he will faithfully execute it. If you don't like a President that follows that law, well, we have elections every four years.
I know he cares about poverty, especially the inner cities. I fully expect Democrats to fight him tooth and nail on his plan to turn our inner cities into splendid gems of prosperity, because Dems love Blacks in squalor and have no intention whats so ever to lift them into independent middle class status. Dems want a underclass that dependent on them for survival. They want a noose around their neck that they can loosen just enough to compel their constant obedience.

I hope you are right and I'm wrong, but, I fully expect Dems to fight Trump's upcoming plans to turn our inner cities into fabulously restored real beauties, tooth and nail.

He tried that and found out Democrats cannot be trusted nor are they willing to negotiate. There IS NO DACA BILL. There is no bill to sign.

It's all about dictating the narrative. Up until today the booming economy and success of the Trump-GOP tax cuts was dictating the narrative, now the Dems want to change that.

Clearly, Democrats are operating from a position of weakness and they know it. All of their posturing can't conceal that.

True. An increasingly low number of people are because these programs have been being gutted for decades. They're not going to be helping people for much longer, we need to find new ways forward.

No one. Repeat, NO ONE in their right mind thinks that the benefits of building trumps wall was an intelligent thing to do. Too bad TRUMP didn't stick to what he said on Tuesday: "What ever you guys put together, bring it to me and I'll sign it". They did and he proved he only told another of many lies.

    http://thehill.com/homenews/adminis...-obama-for-2013-government-shutdown-resurface

Trump said. “I mean, problems start from the top and they have to get solved from the top and the president’s the leader. And he’s got to get everybody in a room and he’s got to lead.”
“When they talk about the government shutdown, they’re going to be talking about the president of the United States, who the president was at that time.”

    Completely agreed, Mr. President, :applause:

    Wait ....what

    lol.
