No names. Why should anyone believe this nothingburger?

Barr isn't investigating. Basically had shut down any investigating.

I love how you blame Trump for calling it like it is and totally ignore the actual fake news that has been spread.

Yep. Twitter has closed the NYPost's Twitter page, Google buried their website so deep that finding it is problematic and face book blocked it as well.

Did you Google their web page or use a different search engine? If they are blocked by Google and facebook and buried by Google half if America aren't finding them.

for what, having consensual sex? Lying about an affair?

Trump has taught us that no future president ever has to talk under oath ever again or hand over any information requested by Congress, so won't be an issue going forward

    what Republicans said pre-Trump

"Lindsey Graham: A president who doesn't comply with Congressional requests for information is subject to impeachment."

I agree, people want their preconceptions reinforced. However, hearing the other side constantly scream "fake news" makes it easier to dismiss the news you don't like about your side. Why should Dems hold Biden accountable, when the GOP never holds Trump accountable for anything?

That's the height of partisanship. My side good, your side bad. Got it, we've heard it many times before. Now, if you ignore "my side bad" too many times, why are you upset when the other side starts doing the same?

I just say, it's fake news. That's the standard Trump response to any news bad for him. What's your beef with that?

Your conflating Bush, Obama with Trump, that is an error of logic,

Just increasing evidence that the two sides in this increasingly bizzarre melodrama can't agree as to the facts about anything.

There is only one side that started believing in "alternative facts". You reap what you sow.

I agreed with your post. What I quoted above is something I've been thinking about a lot over the last four years. The general consensus seems to be that the media doesn't tell us the truth, and that this is a departure from past norms.

But every time I see media content from past decades, it's all very slanted too, print media especially. Sometimes even more so than today. The only area where I see at least some evidence of non-bias are the major network news anchors. Kronkite comes to mind immediately. But when compared to the total amount of journalists and news people active in the country, the major network anchors are just a drop in the bucket.

I think that the media, that huge multi-headed beast that does not act as the singular entity that it is often referred to as when people say "the media", has always behaved in a mostly biased way. Money and power are involved, and there's no reason at all to think this profession is immune to the influences of those things any more than any other profession.

This country reveres the idea of a free press, rightfully. It's execution is not, and has probably never been, the unbiased objective source of information it feels like it should be, or was. It never will be either, until robots are writing the articles and can be programmed to remove bias. Even that too may prove impossible.
