Sure, just like only under threats of force are many people reluctant to commit crimes. I mean seriously how many people would rob banks if the government didn't stick their nose into it? Obviously many more than do now.

Welcome to living in a civilized society where we have rules and enforce them.

Micro that down, do you have kids? Do they have rules? How useless would those rules be if you didn't enforce them? I realize you're probably one of those "let the kids learn their own lessons" parents, so that's probably a hypothetical for you.

This was a judges ruling, where did you come up with "a family court ALWAYS..."? Oh...you made it up.
Yea, I'm sure the judge would rule so favorably for the parents in this case had the charge of “severe neglect” which CPS leveled against the parents had been validated in the hearing ....just to reunite the family. Makes perfect sense to a mindless drone.

Clearly, the only mistake these parents made was not filling out paper work before taking the child to another hospital. The mistakes made by CPS were far more serious.

What crime did the parents commit?

What rule did the parents break? Its not like they found someone named Kermit to murder their child.

I give them the warning and then let them learn unless it can be very serious of an injury. But that has nothing to do with what these parents did, as in they saught a second opinion.

Do you understand that doctors MUST report if they feel a child is in danger? When the parents took off with their kid without a proper discharge the doctor felt the child was in danger. If he hadn't reported it , HE could have faced criminal charges.

It's not that they SOUGHT a second opinion, it's how they went about it.

oh and something tells me that your kids aren't well behaved if all you do is warn them when they break the rules.

I this story and the story on plan B, ought to send shockwaves through the homes of every "normal" parental home in the USA.

This story shows how hospitals have become nothing more ten another Big Brother institution where anyone who walks in with a kid is immediately suspicious. If you walk into hospital with a child, there is a chance if things don't go your way, you may leave without your kid. Very scary.

Anybody who has taken a child to the ER for an injury knows of what I speak. The sense that you are suspicious or being looked at as a potential threat to your own kid. Medical staff are now authorized to ask and/or see your child without you the parent in the room so they can question the child on very inappropriate things such as abuse (sexual, emotional, or physical).

It's getting scary if a doctor can call CPS and have CPS walk into your home with no warrant and take your child from your own arms.

What a load of manure. No one here believes the child was just taken away for no reason.

If you're going to debate, at least make an effort to be honest about the facts.

How is what I said manure?

The parents wanted a 2nd opinion on their kid. Who the (*)(*)(*)(*) is the doctor to say no to that? So they take kid and go get a 2nd opinion. That doctor, clears the child to go home and the police who show up at that hospital have no problem with that either.

Then suddenly the next day, CPS and cops show up at the families house assault the father, break into the home, no warrant I may add, and demand the mom not resist them taking HER baby.

What "facts" am I missing man?

Well, let's start with the obvious. Not only did the doctor not say no to the 2nd opinion, hell he couldn't have even if he wanted to. So stop acting like the doctor was just pissed about losing a patient and called the cops.

Until you stop telling THAT lie, this discussion can't proceed.

This is not the first incident where CPS is involved in unconstitutional and illegal activities. There's very little reporting on it in the media. See this post with more about the so-called Child Protection Services
    http://www.politicalforum.com/political-opinions-beliefs/257889-tyranny-already-here.html

Yes, it's like Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany. There are thousands of documented cases from Soviet Russia, during the period of totalitarianism, where the State forcefully took away children from parents. They used motives like "religious indoctrination" or "poor hygiene". CPS is using "malnutrition", "child abuse" and sometimes homeschooling, as motives.

It reminds me of a phrase quoted from a propaganda article which appeared in Pravda, the official
Communist newspaper. It was during the 1970s. It said: "We must all use all means to discourage religious beliefs among the population, especially among young people".

It shouldn't come as a surprise that CPS is targeting innocent families, sometimes their most hated target are families who homeschool their children and teach them about God and Jesus.

How does restricting one from exercising their right to obtain a means of self defense serve the purpose of punishment? The restrictions exist because of the fear that they may use a firearm in the commission of a future crime.

There are some laws related to the use of guns in the commission of a crime. I do not have a problem with those where the crime is a real crime.

So if a teacher gets put in jail for being a pedo, after he serve his time, he isn't allowed to teach anymore.

That is kind of the same thing we are looking at here. Sure, it's his right to pursue his happiness and have a career in the field he has chosen. He may have even gone to school specifically for that purpose. Still, that doesn't matter. He isn't allowed to teach anymore because of crimes he committed in the past.

You wouldn't trust a hungry animal with a newborn, would you?

So those laws are gun control, and therefor, you are pro gun control. Right?

CPS is going to be checking on that child, didn't you read the article?

Yes, and the fact that the child is in the hospital proves that the child needed attention the parents didn't think he needed, and the judge warned them they couldn't pull him out without the hospital releasing him. That sure wasn't what they did before.

The only ones acting stupid here are the ones that think the parents have a right to deny their child medical attention, that is, until the child dies, then these same dummies are the first ones to scream "Why didn't CPS do something"? They don't realize how hypocritical they are. CPS did the right thing and the child is now safe because of CPS.

The PROBLEM you leave out is that he parents took a 5 month old baby with a serious heart condition who has the flu (seriously enough the parents took the child to the hospital), then they RIP that child OUT of Intensive Care with NO preparation, NO knowledge of ongoing drug administration, who knows WHAT needles they took out, and run off for a "2nd opinion".

There are safe and effective ways to get a 2nd opinion from an independent source outside the hospital you are in, and the parents are INSANE for their dangerous behavior.

And the court hardly trusts them, they are under COURT ORDER to follow ALL medical instructions, so the next time they do this they very likely WILL be charged with a crime, quite appropriately so.

    way2convey,

Here's a story about a family from Germany who asked for political asylum in America. They homeschooled their children and in Germany this is illegal, the state can take their children away permanently. That's why they came here. And now, Obama and his administration want to send them back. This is more proof that Obama is against freedom! There are Muslim extremists and other idiots who hate America, allowed to stay in the US. But not this family.

    See the link here.

Republicans want to send immigrants from Mexico back, why is that more humane than sending this German couple back (if your story is true)? Hypocrites.

Stop the hyperbole. Nowhere in the article does it say the parents "RIP that child OUT of Intensive Care with NO preparation, NO knowledge of ongoing drug administration". It says that "She took her baby from the hospital without a proper discharge, and went straight to Kaiser Permanente Hospital".....which means they did not have a piece a paper signed by the doctor.

This couple had a doctor prescribe heart surgury for an infant.....a nurse that did not know what drug she was giving the baby.....a drug that the doctor stated the baby should not have....AND IMMEDIATELY took the baby to another hospital where it receive care and treatment, which the police were aware of.

The next day, the police show at their house without a warrant and man-handled the dad and took the sick infant from the adults that were actively seeking treatment for their child. What is wrong with you that you think ANY of this is OK?

No one has an inherent right to force others to hire him. You don't have to sell an ex-convict a weapon, or hire him for security. That does not change the fact the he has done his time and has the right to self defense.

What stops him from starting a school and marketing his services? People will likely not hire him, and for good reason. However, his ability to own a chalkboard and call himself a teacher isn't taken away from him.

Are you calling a human being an animal? And this has nothing to do with whom I trust. I believe that people have unalienable rights and are not animals to be controlled by the state. Whom I choose to associate with or hire is an entirely different matter.

Wrong. They do not control guns, but only punish those who use them in a way that harms innocent people. What you are saying is aking to saying that punishing people for drunk driving is alcohol control.

They can't take care of their kids properly under the Governments moral guidelines, so it is well within societies right to take their babies away from them.

The officer is an agent of the state, and has the lawful right to the use of force in taking babies away from misfit parents.

Wards of the state have a better chance at a successful life than a child living in an irresponsible parents home.
