    Well, there are a couple of issues that don’t square for me. Far to many people that have died that tested positive for covid are categorized as having died of covid. If someone dies of a heart attack and tests positive for covid, they died because of covid. I’m not convinced of that accuracy. People have died of heart attack long before covid. And second, hospitals receive extra money for treating covid patients. There is monetary reward for “erring on the side of caution” shall we say with regards to the diagnosis. How many people have died of heart attack and respiratory infections this year compared to last?

    Wrong! We have done more testing, hence more cases. Percentage wise the deaths are on par or lower. Please, try your propaganda elsewhere.

    I am sure some people did, for a slew of reasons, but to suggest it was for greed only, is bombastic. All of the guidelines are explicity laid out to help retard the spread of the virus. It seems you want the whole world shut down.

    You seem to be cherry picking while avoiding and ignoring the bigger picture. Even across the pond, the corrupted Capitalist system has exposed the rot.
    Why are you so insistent that Capitalism need not be regulated when it so apparently does? Did you not see in the OP that I very specifically referred to the system here as unbridled and deregulated and that is the basis for my argument and how it affected the USA's pathetic virus response. We had freaking bread lines due to the broken economic system.

    So the virus is back to a deadly threat. I anticipate that will last until November 4th (unless the Democrats decide to incite another round of looting and burning, in which case it will go away as a threat so that "peaceful protesters" can burn down some more cities).

    The jig is up. Most rational people realize that the Democrats want to suppress the economy and to prevent Trump rallies. We know the fear-mongering is just a strategy to get Trump out of power.

    Where did I speak for you? You actually hijacked the thread when you ignored the very precise premise of my OP and went off on a tangent of your own defending the indefensible...a broken corrupt system that works for the very few. You put words in my mouth when you omitted the adjectives I used in describing the rigged system and went on the defensive as if my daring to bring up the negative affect the broken system had on the virus response is some kind of sacrilege.

    It seems like if this virus is political in nature or being exploited for political means a group could either spread it purposefully OR lockdown to hurt the economy. How would they do both?
