Sen. Cory Booker, a New Jersey Democrat who rose to prominence as Newark's charismatic and ambitious mayor, announced Friday that he is running for president.

Booker chose the first day of Black History Month to launch his campaign, timing that nods to Booker's own heritage and suggests he will put it at the center of his pitch to voters.

Booker joins a crowded and growing Democratic field that is already the most diverse in history -- with multiple women, one gay candidate, a Latino and, with Booker now in the mix, two black candidates.....snip~

Sparticus Booker joins the Clown Car, he doesn't have a good chance of winning. But Right away CNN will tout the Identity Politics, huh?

I think he'll win the nomination.

Is he part of the 'Mulatto Mafia', that has been deemed such a racist term, by the PC among us, lol. It's a tough choice between Spartacus and the gal who shagged Willie Brown for her career positions within the CA justice system. On the one hand Harris hasn't been accused of groping a female so that's +1 for her, lol... What a delightfully dreadful spectacle the crowded field on the left is becoming. :)

I'm just waiting for him to start a speech by saying 'Hello, I'm Cory Booker' and then Trump supporters in the audience jump up and go 'No, I'M Cory booker!', that would be hilarious.

I would have thought that 2 years ago. I thought he was the most Obama-like of the potential candidates, only with more political experience. But he's proven to be such a lightweight since then I just don't think he can make it. I think the media establishment's early pick is Kamela Harris and as long as she's in the race Booker is going nowhere.

    I totally disagree with that.

I think the media don't care about that (or else support her "go girl" initiative) and I don't think most people find that relevant. If that is supposed to be an attack line, my guess is that it will go exactly nowhere.

I just posted my rationale in the 50 states, 50 candidates thread. It's a little long to place here. I'll keep going on the subject on Facebook for another hour or more: Philcole.

You could be right. We'll see if her opposition uses it and how effective it will be.

Booker is qualified to run for the DP nomination - he makes a jackass out of himself as often as possible.

Booker said he drove to Hawaii from New Jersey.

Booker said America is having a problem with Morals. Yet he still hasn't figured out how he is one of the causes of that problem.

This isn’t the first time Booker has found himself in the national spotlight. Here’s a look back at some of his most memorable moments: 2002: Makes an unsuccessful bid for Newark mayor.

Cory Booker Accused of Sexual Harassment by Another Man

Democrat Senator Cory Booker aka Senator Spartacus was just accused by another man of sexual assault. The allegation comes after Booker admitted to groping in an op-ed last year. It also comes on the heels of serious allegations against other Democrat politicians like Keith Ellison and Sherrod Brown. Allegations that are far more “credibly accused” (to borrow a Democrat buzzword) than allegations against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, whom there was no supporting evidence to accuse of anything sinister...

All that will probably convince our DP friends that Booker is their guy. :)

Clinton was reelected. The creep factor is clearly irrelevant to most DP voters.

Brilliant! Trump would win CA! Too bad you are not in the political consultant biz - that one would have netted you $7 figures. ;-)

After his exposure in the Kavanaugh hearings, I can't see how a dem could ever vote for that guy. And I voted For McGovern

I am quite sure that Harris had to hit up the crack pipe before getting it on with Mr. Brown so let's hope someone has a video of that puff, puff magic that they are holding onto for later in the campaign.

We're going to see a lot of Democrats throwing their hat in the ring. Think about it. Normally one of them would have to win twice; once be nominated by their Democratic party and then elected in the big election for the presidency. However, the Dems know that (it's a big if) but if trump is still in the White House all they have to do is be nominated by the Democratic party and then they won't even have to campaign, they will win the presidency by default because trump's dog pound won't be able to keep him in the White House.
