The progressive liberal elites certainly do. Why can they use fences to prevent unwanted intrusion on their property whilst those US citizens living on the border some of whom have been killed by illegal aliens cannot rely on their government to protect them by constructing a wall to keep illegals out of the country ??

 

The wall will only be built where it makes sense. This has been said by government and conservative/moderate news. While Trump is not usually detailed about his plans and promises I believe Trump has stated this a few times. Areas without a wall will require more patrols obviously but by having a wall in other areas we will have more people to patrol these areas where we cannot place walls.

I am sure several agencies will be involved in determining the need and feasibility of specific areas. I doubt the president will have involvement in that. The presidents role is to give the directive and resources to these agencies so that they can do their job.

 

For thousands of years various nationalities put up fences or walls to keep people out, or in. Generally they worked. Apparently in the last five years there has been some kind of magical development so that they no longer work. I have been trying to find the nature of this magical development for the past year. No one, left or right, has been able to identify this magical development, but the left insists that fences are no longer effective.

 

It works better than an imaginary line on the ground.

Trump said that and that Mexico would pay for it, but I think we all know he will not accomplish that and like Obama he will just add some addl wall where needed - any more than that, and he will get push back, especially the locations that require stealing Americans land to build it

There is no way that anyone, Trump or anyone else, is just suddenly going to build a wall across our entire southern border. The dems don't want to fund any part of a wall.

The purpose of the military iwas to defend and ensure the security of the USA and its citizens. Protecting our border is an important part of that.

 

Trump got money for a wall in the budget and he had budget left over from the previous year.... he did not need to steal money from the military
