    Doesn't appear to be destroyed, but parts of it certainly damaged.

    Cue more distraction threads from our resident Putinistas. Maybe a bit of confected outrage or a conspiracy theory or two as well.

    Rail traffic will probably be up and running soon enough, which is the important part for military purposes. Of course, it will make escaping from Crimea harder when the Ukranians arrive.

    At this stage it is part practical victory & part propaganda victory, but that is fine. A nice birthday present for Vlad.

    If Putin is not winning his war, he is doesn't have to blow up apartment building or anything else. People who say this tend to be Putin-lovers who want to justify Putin's actions. So, it is incredibly ignorant for those who might supposedly support Ukraine to say that Putin has no choice. Putin doesn't have to escalate, he can withdraw from Ukraine.

    Not necessarily, in fact probably unlikely. The flames from that ruptured pipeline are going to heat the steel rail lines and their structural supports by several hundred degrees for many hours. That is seriously going to soften all that metal and mess with the load bearing capacity of that part of the rail bridge.

    I reality. Engineers are probably going to have to replace all the affected components in the rail bridge. Which means it's out for the count as well.

    Very sad (for the guy in charge of protecting it).

    Supposedly the truck which exploded was traveling from Russia west bound on the bridge towards Crimea. Interesting detail there.

    I wonder what the next step will be for Putin? Maybe he declares martial law? Some how expands conflict in some way? Until the railway line is repaired Russian logistics in the south of Ukraine are badly impaired.
