Billy the Bagman has to be conflicted.

His boss and protector may be gone and then what?

Does he double down and go balls to the wall in a pretty lame hope that he can help Trump win or does he stand down and pray that his previous actions aren't quite bad enough yet, to cost him serious harm.

If he does stand down now...he could probably talk himself out of serious jeopardy...if not...he better win

Very true. Confirmation bias is very hard to resist, especially when there is a social group to reinforce your existing bias with group think. Recognition of your own bias and attempts to self moderate by challenging your existing convictions is a most difficult medicine to swallow.

The Party’s embrace of greed has created the conflict between personal and social goals. It’s inability to distinguish between the two brings us the notion of pursuing a social goal (combatting virus) equates to authoritarianism.

It’s devolution to a single tenant long held as unacceptable completely uncouples responsibility from rights—only the right exists.

At the root of every modern rightwing argument you’ll uncover the embrace of greed. Acknowledging it makes the arguments more understandable though not any less deplorable. The Republican Party has devolved into a responsibility free zone.

If trump loses the election, let's hope ted is also thrown under the bus when his next election comes up for being such a weasel enabler of trump.
We need to remember to clean out the whole sewer that supported trump instead of doing their duty as public servants and loyal Americans.

Ted is the least of them, IMO, but his day is probably coming. He just barely managed to win in 2018 over O'Roarke.

I sent $25 to the campaigns of the following:

Amy McGrath. McConnell is the worst, but it looks like the people of Kentucky are going to re-elect him. Hopefully, the Dems will win enough seats to take control away from him.

Jaime Harrison. Lindsey Graham is in trouble. Looks like he may lose that seat. No one deserves it more. And he's been whining about people like me who don't live in SC sending Harrison money. As if my $25 bucks made as much difference as the corporations and lobbyists from whom he gets money.

Sara Gideon. Susan Collins infamously said, after voting not to remove an impeached Trump from office, "I think he's learnt his lesson." I look forward to sending her an email after she loses, asking if she's learned hers.

Mark Kelly. Because Martha McSally is a nincompoop.

That was all I could spare. I didn't include Hickenlooper in my own state because I don't think he needs help beating that tool, Cory Gardener.
