they do not work for anyone, cops fear guns, if a cop fears for their life, it gives then justification to kill, thus a unconcealed gun is such justification - why I would never carry a gun in pubic unconcealed - I am white and would fear a cop seeing me with a gun and killing me

 

and it depends what you are doing with it.

If it is in a holster on your belt, and you are making no issue of it, it doesn't scare anyone.
If you are waving it around, you just committed suicide.

 

Many would also be in fear but cops are the only people who are exempt from accountability if they kill someone who is armed even if they are not posing a threat.
