…On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Mark Pittman ruled that Biden’s executive action was unconstitutional because Congress didn’t approve the sweeping plan. In fact, the judge claimed it was one of the largest executive branch overreaches in the "history of the United States."

As Fox Business reported, Pittman’s opinion on the ruling stated, "No one can plausibly deny that it is either one of the largest delegations of legislative power to the executive branch, or one of the largest exercises of legislative power without congressional authority in the history of the United States…

…The handout, announced by Biden in August, was intended to provide upwards of $20,000 of student debt relief to borrowers making under $125,000 a year. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the plan would have cost American taxpayers over $400 billion.

Liberals on the platform expressed outrage over the ruling, while conservatives ridiculed Biden’s entire handout strategy as being a cynical ploy to garner Democratic votes for the midterms.

The Federalist co-founder Sean Davis wrote, "Doesn’t matter to Biden. Its only purpose was to buy votes for last Tuesday."

American Greatness senior Fellow Ned Ryun tweeted, "Fascinating. Motivated under 30s to come out and vote and in the end, Biden got what he wanted and they got played for fools."…

This is an interesting Fox News report of the reactions of the left and the right to the news of Bidens student loan forgiveness plan being declared unconstitutional. The Judge in the case got it exactly right in my view. So too did the conservatives on Twitter.

It's just unfortunate this judge's ruling came after the election. Is this Texas judge from a liberal city? You have to wonder if Biden asked the judge to delay the ruling until after the election? We all know he asked Saudi Arabia to delay cutting oil for political reasons.

That is exactly what Biden and company are doing right now, laughing their asses off at the suckers who bought into this lie and voted for Democrats. This is the second time progressives have been screwed by the Democratic Party. Let's see if they get suckered again in 2024.

They certainly got played for chumps. If you're going to let someone buy your vote at least make them give you the money before you vote for them

Well I heard there are about 40 million people who are quite upset with Biden. In time more of this betrayal will sink in to more.

Let us not forget these were loans for “Education”. I’d say it was a fail all the way around!
These “educated debtors” represent the soft squishy middle of a hollowed out America.

That was not the purpose. The purpose was to try to get Congress to solve, or at least, attempt to solve the broken system of student loans. Since tuition has risen some 700% and more since the 1960s while real wages have remained constant for nearly 5 decades, it was bound to happen even though some 40% of the US population has some college education. Some people go into the military simply for that GI benefit to pay college tuition and treat the military as any other job, except it is not any other job. And forgiving $10k or 20k is not that much if their income is under $75k per the guidelines.

But go ahead, try the GOP strategy of placing more debt onto the lower classes and see how that works out for you with higher living costs year after year after year after year. Eventually, not even the middle class will be able to buy cheap crap anymore and our economy will go down the tubes.

I seriously doubt this issue had much of an impact on the voting outcome.

No one is ‘placing more debt’ on anyone. The debt already exists and the loans were voluntary. And if a college education is so valuable, then why are people with degrees making under $75k?

The questions that should be asked are why is college so expensive and why aren’t 18 year olds being properly informed about the loans they’re taking out? It seems to me an 18 who has a huge student loan probably wouldn’t qualify for a $5,000 used car loan.

I would suggest you look at McCarthy's plan again. The GOP wants to take away Pell Grants and that will definitely increase the amount of debt for those who are very low-income in order to go to college and improve their education and job skills for better jobs. At the same time, the GOP also wants to take away total and permanently disabled, teacher and first responders' student debt forgiveness, allow banks to resume predatory lending practices, and charge the interest rate market value. Hence, more debt. All in the name of "eliminating" wasteful spending.

The college educated are not the low income. Bidens plan was to make the working class and trades middle class workers pay off the loans of young urban professionals just before they hit peak earning as a result of their advanced degrees.

This is what happens when you send everyone to college, it becomes less valuable and prices go up.

The issue is that you'd have to regulate the debtors and those who can apply for credit(arguably loans are the most predatory and the result of higher tuition costs.). For both parties and due to different reasons, taking the drastic steps needed to reform the system is a bridge too far for them. But not enough to faux-campaign on it.

I doubt it. Biden will blame a Trumpist judge (one more reason to pack the court) and everyone will forget about this until 2024 when they try this loan forgiveness again, and it will drive turnout again.

Frankly it's brilliant. Next stop Biden will be promising a 100k to the Legions...I mean military if he's elected.

Republican strategists clearly misread their voter data, and paid for it. They did make inroads on crime and of course the economy, just not enough to stave off the harm from Trump.

Watch all those rabid Trump fans run away from him now. :)

I’ve always said part of me respects the hell out of democrats. They, better than republicans, know how to win. I wish they knew how to lead…as unfortunately they are terrible at it. But they certainly know how to win. They have targeted every social and cultural influencer in our nation and have absolutely blown away any right wing competition.

Once a president is elected pretty much everything they do is for votes whether for himself or the party. This shouldn’t be earth shattering news to anyone.

There are people who are low-income who are going to college and receive the Pell Grant. The eligibility requirements for Pell Grants is any undergraduate who has not yet received a degree and shows exceptional financial need, aka, they are very poor and the parents are poor too. The max is $6825 for the current 2022-2023 academic year. The average cost of going to college is about $25,707 per year, including room and board. So, it definitely helps and yet the GOP wants to take this away. Go figure.
