Unfrickingbelievable. Trying to explain that to a desperate democrat is tougher than trying to teach a 1 year old how to count to 100. Damn.

The Republicans are struggling to bring relief measures and funds to American citizens.

The Democrats are fighting to block them.

Which sounds like the better faith to you?

Republicans are trying to have a 500BN slush fund that they can issue it to whoever they want without restrictions while truing their backs on the people — while having the balls to openly say they will hide who gets the money.

The :democrat: are now demanding carbon taxes for airlines & solar panel credits. :cynic:

One :democrat: said last nite on the floor of the Senate that this was their chance to raid the treasury as these "opportunities" don't come around very often.

This is bargaining in good faith after they had already agreed to a bill?

There is no slush fund. That's just plain b.s.

Too bad Nancy waited until yesterday to find that unacceptable.

Information that could've been brought to our attention two weeks ago.

But then the foot dragging and suffering was all part of the plan, wasn't it?

The Democrats do actually make a good, valid point that no business, company, or corporation should be allowed to take any money in 'bailouts' or zero-interest loans subsidized by the government and use it to buy back company stock, or any OTHER stock, either!

The Republican Senate package has no safeguards to prevent this kind of bullshit stock-acquisition practice from occurring with 'bailout' money! Why not? When big biz corporations were being bailed out during and after the Great Recession this kind of dirty, underhanded crap went on routinely, and both the Federal Reserve central bank and the government under both Republicans AND Democrats simply looked the other way! The rich got even richer playing the stock market with bailout money!

Good grief they want the insert the Green New Deal into this. Union representation on corporate boards. Stock buy backs by corporations, yes stock buy backs can be good for the economy.

And bottom line the Dems would prefer more people on government subsistence than working and EARNING a paycheck.

And they've been very well managed as voters have reelected Obama.

For 40 years, every time the country has gone bad, voters have turned to the Democrats to clean up the mess.

Clinton, Obama and Biden next November.

I do agree, AKS... the Democrats are trying to 'lard' this thing up with gobs of pet-project fat that they like, too! When the government runs around in a panic, practically falling all over itself in a runaway hysteria to spend TWO TRILLION DOLLARS, you can bet everybody will have an agenda!

I wonder if anybody is asking himself whether or not any of these corporations, or any of these individual citizens ever thought to build up a fugging SAVINGS ACCOUNT to help them get through the "rainy days" that do actually occur in life...? Instead, we have a totally unexpected crisis with this virus (although it could be any one of a half-dozen other things), and the first thing that happens is everybody is suddenly screaming for the GOVERNMENT to rush in and 'rescue' them! What kind of totally irresponsible BULLSHIT is that...?! :frustrated:

agree with that, dems should not of done that.... I have no issues calling out either party for their wrongs, that is what is wrong with this country, so many will defend their party no mater what

everytime Obama wanted to give something to the people, republicans did the same, and it was wrong then too

but I also support dems wanting more protections for American workers and wanting a bigger stimulus for the American people

republicans need to agree to what dems are requesting for the American people, but I support republicans not agreeing to the nonsense stuff that a couple dems wanted

One thing that came out two days ago was a Democrat proposal to increase the Social Security cost-of-living factor by $200/month. That is not at all extravagant considering that three of the last ten years there was no increase at all -- and the increases that were allowed were almost microscopic considering the REAL increases in cost of living expenses on things that people actually have to buy!

It worked for them in 2008 after they crashed the economy and blamed it on Bush so they could act like saviors. Next, they won by using the race card. When they failed with the gender card in 2016, they had to revert back to crashing the economy so they could blame it on Trump. They always revert back to their old ways - *cough* Russian collusion *cough* - and they're doing it again.

So you disagree with the Japanese and South Korean governments handling of their respective crises?

Who elected the people sitting in Congress and the Senate and the White House, and why do you think those same citizens would suddenly do a great job on their own? The empty shelves tell us all we need to know about that.

If it can be argued within the scope of coronavirus relief/stimulus then so be it. They don't sound like they're that far apart on those issues. But, you'd need to be a pretty slimy sonofabitch to try and get pork slipped in under these circumstances.
