Also I am for more restrictions on alcohol, since alcohol destroys families and lives. I think it inconsistent for most to condone alcohol while rejecting Marijuana considering the damage of alcohol on our society and individuals is much greater.

You seem to have done quite well in the self esteem classes, and probably won some participation awards also, but you've not demonstrated anything that would set you apart from Mac-7- or any other poster. In fact I find Mac's posts are far more interesting and to the point than yours and, though not scientific, this can be reflected in the number of 'likes' he's received.

And most can drink alcohol responsibly as well. But the freedom to smoke or drink doesn't mean we should overly exercise that freedom.

What happened historically, and continues today, is that Hollywood and advertising agencies combined to make drinking and smoking glamorous, exciting, romantic and normal when they obviously are none of that. But smoking dope was defined by Hollywood as being 'cool', and to not smoke or drink was 'square'.

Advertising and Hollywood will manipulate public thought and opinion as much as academia - and make people do rather stupid things in order to become more fashionable.

Both should be socially discouraged as much as nicotine was. It's no longer cool to smoke cigarettes, in fact smokers are now considered to be socially backward and not terribly bright. The same social attitudes can apply to pot, and should be.

My comments to MAC apply to you as well - although not quite as severe in your case. You do show the occasional glimmer of rational thought. .. not that the above post is an example but - at other times I have seen it.

You are welcome to try and defend Mac's claim "I dont think we should add to the list of harms to children"

Something you completely avoided doing in the above post - (which make your post abject nonsense - aside from the plethora of logical fallacy - not exactly a sign of rational thought)

I gave my argument against Mac's claim. (something we have discussed on numerous occasions)

In your rush demonize and name call (giving no back up for your mindless claims) you avoided addressing my argument. Here is the argument you avoided addressing

    The floor is yours ..

Mac presented his case and his rationale and you could have debated his points, and there was much there to debate.

Instead you responded with an argument that went " I smoked loads of the stuff as an adolescent - yet - I am far more educated and way smarter than you - which is in part evidence by this really bad/uneducated argument. I am not sure what you smoked as a child but - something has impaired your ability to learn because I have explained to you why this is a bad argument numerous times.".

This is condescending, as well as elitist, and demonstrates again that a modern education doesn't include good manners.

Your inability to discern sarcasm is noted - as is your idiotic claim that this was my main argument - despite the fact that I posted that argument directly to you - an argument which to which you have yet to respond - yet claim you have explained something.

    Dumb and dumber on steroids.

Ahhh! So it was 'sarcasm'. And you're right. No one really knows when leftists are being sarcastic or just being silly.

The problem with this methodology is that a public education is being defined as intelligence but we all should know from personal experience that this is not always the case.

I own a small farm in Central American and the Nicaraguan farmer who runs it for me, with his family, has no formal education. But he was far from being a stupid man. In his environment he was master, in mine he would have been helpless. And the reverse was true. I wouldn't have lasted a week in his environment.

If students are graduating thinking they're smarter than those who didn't then they haven't really been properly educated, and will likely not be open to life's valuable lessons either.

yep, reckless driving, speeding, failure to maintain control are all crimes, sober or not - being tired or even sick can cause impaired driving

the abuse exists legal or not, the difference is with prohibition you make criminals of those that do not abuse and you ruin those families for no reason

the war on drugs ruins more lives then the drugs themselves ever could

some very smart people used marijuana as it opens the mind

"The prestige of government has undoubtedly been lowered considerably by the prohibition law. For nothing is more destructive of respect for the government and the law of the land than passing laws which cannot be enforced. It is an open secret that the dangerous increase of crime in this country is closely connected with this."

Driving while high is very low on the list of accident causes.

Who said anything about tax dollars? Is someone recommending the government buy everyone pot?

Would not such low figures ultimately be due to the fact that marijuana is illegal in the united states, rather than anything else?

I realize that you may not like opinion that respect for individual liberty is a good thing but, that does not make an opinion insane.

Just because you have no respect for essential liberty, the founding principles and want to control others does not mean those that disagree with you are "insane". To be honest - it is often that the control freaks that get branded insane.

Why do you want hate the rule of law so much and why do you desire to control others ?
