Neither rich companies, nor rich individuals, nor poor companies, nor poor individuals pay income taxes. If a company, whatever its net worth, paid zero income tax, it's because it didn't have any net taxable income.

How or why exactly would reimbursements be adjusted? I suspect they would, always downward.

And why is that? Why is their income not taxable? Because of enormous loopholes put in the tax code due to intense lobbying from said rich corporations.

Because hospitals wouldn’t be able to stay in business if ONLY paid at Medicare fees. For example, in my state, hospitals lose tens of millions with Medicare/Medicaid patients. It’s only due to the contracts with the local and national payers that help keep hospitals from going under.
Therefore reimbursements would have to be adjusted higher. The alternative is hospitals close due to being underfunded.

Ever hear of a company losing money an having a negative net income? Seems not.

Give an example of an "enormous loophole" (and try to limit to an actual loophole.)

The latter is more likely to happen. Medicare for all (followed of course by universal health care) makes the demand side of the equation skyrocket, which would be impossible to meet. So what has to be is the allocation or rationing of health care. This could certainly include closing some facilities.

Of course. There are no facts associated with forecasts. But it doesn't take an economics degree to understand that supply cannot possibly keep up with a near infinite demand. It shouldn't be difficult to see that allocation (rationing, if you will) would be the rule under Medicare for all. It is part of the current Medicare which also requires premiums, deductibles, and co-insurance before you even get to the allocation/rationing of care.

In fact, the DNC wrote a 91 page platform (https://www.demconvention.com/wp-co...emocratic-Party-Platform-For-Distribution.pdf), while the RNC managed to come up with a 50 bullet point list of goals, which included 'get back to normal in 2021', and 'Protect our Veterans' (https://twitter.com/NicoleSganga/status/1297704384286150656/photo/1). I think this sums up the contrast quite neatly. The Dems are serious about governing and do the work. Trump and his lackies don't think its necessary and just throw out some platitudes. The RNC's excuse for not coming up with a platform was covid...coincidentally, the DNC faced the same issue but still manage to produce one. This is the first time in RNC history that they have not produced a platform for the convention.

You measure the value of a platform by the number of words or pages???

I just heard Biden in a news clip say, "There are corporations that made close to a trillion dollars that paid no tax." The truth is that there never has been a corporation that made $ trillion, or even $ billion, and paid no tax.

Same as it has been since, what, 1988? Earlier?
    - Tax the rich
    - Use the money to buy votes
    - Pander to minorities (see above)
    - Do whatever we can to inhibit the free market
    - Place as many unnecessary and ineffective restrictions on the RKBA as possible
    - Vilify those who don't agree with us

No, in fact I measure it by the detailed content of specific plans. Bullet points are for presentations, not political platforms. The fact that the RNC couldn't come up with one - as they have always done - speaks volumes. And it is very much in keeping with how Trump has approached his role over the past 3.5 years.

    A NEW platform.
    Thus, the CURRENT platform remains.

    You were lied to.

The businesses where we spend that money pay taxes on that income, don't they? And reorder more goods as we consume them, which often means revenue from tariffs, doesn't it?

For the first time in its history, the RNC has failed to deliver a party platform for their convention. And - again - how was I lied to? By whom? The party did not produce a platform this year...that's not a lie.

Hey - if you're happy with a regurgitation from 2016, who am I to complain? It's your party - not mine. I like to see evolution of thought - I like to see the plans for the world as they see it in 2020 - not 2016. The world is different now. But, apparently, not to Trump.

A NEW party platform. The GOP still has a platform.
Whoever told you the GOP does not have a platform.
And you believed them because they told you what you wanted to hear.

The RNC does not have a NEW platform for 2020 - they are just recycling the one from 2016. That's the truth - I wasn't lied to about that.
The RNC - in it's history - has never failed to produce a NEW platform. That's the truth - I wasn't lied to about that.

You didn't know that until it was brought to your attention here, in response to your statements that the GOP does not have a and/or has not put out a platform:
The RNC's excuse for not coming up with a platform << Note the absence of "new"
The fact that the RNC couldn't come up with one << Note the absence of "new"
The RNC has decided not to put out a platform << Note the absence of "new"

    By me, anyway.

Businesses do not pay taxes on the income they get from buyers. They pay taxes on any of that money that might be left over after paying all their expenses. The government does get money directly from the purchase of tariffed goods. However, that assumes you and the others will buy those imported gods again and again instead of switching to non-tariffed made in America goods -- which is the ultimate aim of tariffs.

In any case do you think these taxes will cover the $3 trillion deficit ? Come within a million light years?

Did you read that 45,000 or so word DNC platform? If so I would like to hear what you thought of the substance, not the size. I would also like your opinion why the platform was pretty much kept hidden and under wraps during the convention.

Well the right to life is not a positive right it is a negative right. All rights are negative.

having the right to life does it mean the government must guarantee that you continue to live. It couldn't if it tried.

What's the right to life, what any right really means, is you should be free from government interference.

Take for instance the Second Amendment. I have the right to bear arms. That doesn't mean the government has to provide me with a gun.

Saying someone who has the right to food or the right to shelter means that somebody has to provide that shelter at their expense or at the expense of the taxpayer. That means all industries will be co-opted by the government or people who work in their industries are now slaves.

Healthcare is a commodity. You cannot have rights to commodities without indentured servitude.
