    Will this help or hurt Democrats? Should it help or hurt?

    I would want it to hurt Democrats. There are real reforms needed out there. But the racialization of the George Floyd outrage, and it is an outrage, is very wrong IMHO. The reforms are not race based but justice based, regardless of race. This feels more like a Black Supremacist thing, which polarizes us rather than unite us in common purpose to make things better.

    But it may help them.

    I was outraged by the Obama "Life of Julia" presentation way back. I was how Government would become a single mom's best friend through out her life. Conservatives were aghast thinking what loon would think this thing anything but monstrous?

    But it worked. Single mom's, a core of the Democratic party base, loved it.

    And this lunacy may work for them too. This is what a core faction of their base wants.

    Your thoughts?

    To me, the message is one of division. "We are the only ones that care". They got their photo op.

    My thoughts are that NO matter what they try to enact you can bet your butt that it will in no way affect them, the way they live, where they live or their own security..

    They didn't just pander, they appropriated a culture which they say is naughty in the extreme. Why can't the left obey they own draconian rules?

    Speaking of photo ops the Dems should have held borrowed or stolen Bibles as if they were got coals and held them upside down instead of taking a knee. Oh crap someone already tried that stunt, I bad.

    This is getting out of hand. So far I've seen white people bowing to blacks, washing the feet of blacks, putting themselves in chains, and now this. What about the retired black police captain, did anyone take a knee for him?

    It looked pandering and stupid for all those old white folks to wear the same kente cloth and get down on a knee in such a posed position. It looks staged for the sake of staging. Not genuine at all. The Democrats have been taking the blacks for a ride since The New Deal and then later when Johnson conned them.

    taking a knee to show you understand the pain society is feeling over seeing a cop slowly kill a person with his knee, and that you want justice reform to prevent this from ever happening again

    I see nothing wrong with that - I think it's sad Trump is attacking people that do that
