The liberal firebrand from Cleveland, Dennis Kucinich, has lost the race for re-election to Congress, that was a result of redistricting. And it wasn't even close. (Ironically, it looks as if the victor, Rep. Marcy Kaptur, will square off in the general election against Joseph Wurzelbacher--a.k.a. "Joe the Plumber.") As much as I'm glad to see him go, that's not really what happened. He lost the seat due to redistricting. His slimy liberal supporters just got undermined.
His Democratic replacement will be battling Joe the Plumber. Good luck to him. God knows what kind of communist kaptur is.
Kucinich is OUT !!! As I've said before, I look for the signs in the run-up to an election. Dems are getting the heck out of dodge - retiring. Those who stay are in for a fight. Remember when he was against Obamacare, and then took a ride in AF-1 with the Coercer-in-Chief, and got off being in support of it??? HA- See the sign? His own constituents have had quite enough of him. LOL, Traficant went to prison, Frank was instrumental in the housing crisis, and Kucinish sold his vote on Obamacare. No, we don't need "characters". We need clear-headed leaders who are focused on fiscal concerns; spending and jobs. We need leaders ready to get back to the Constitution and take on regulatory agencies that are strangling people, business, and jobs. We need leaders who recognize that social issues are not the business of the govt. So he's OUT. Will he establish residency in Washington by mid-April to run there? What a loser...
That's how the system is supposed to work, no? The people don't like the job you're doing, ****... Maybe the next one will do better...
It's not who votes that counts -- it's who counts the votes. In terms of reapportionment, it's all about who's drawing the district lines. Then again, districting itself is an antiquated practice. The most accurate system of representation involves a combination of approval voting with multiple candidates vying for the entire state.
The party in power in the state, draws the lines. That's a fact, Jack. As for Kucinich, NO. It was a dem primary and dems voted 60% for his opponent. Neat, sweet, complete.
The problem is that incumbents have made it almost impossible to get rid of them. They hold every advantage. It takes redistricting or jail to get rid of them...It is far more than a fair fight for 51%
He looked like a Former NFL Head Coach of the San Diego Chargers years ago who may have had Downs Syndrome...
Wow! If that's the case, what percentage of Republicans will switch to Obama when push comes to shove?
Oh, and btw, that redistricting was due to de-population. Two districts that no longer had enough people to warrant them, became one. People are leaving liberal bastions of despair in the socialist rust-belt North; for places that have jobs - like the right-to-work South. I know, actions speak, don't they. La dee da.
Interesting. Did you notice that Jean Schmidt got MOD EDIT: WORDS LIKE THAT DO NOT PROMOTE RESPECTFUL DEBATE out of her seat? Hey! Maybe Denny will run as an independent against the bone boy!!
I wrote this on my blog when Kucinich switched his vote on health care. I hope more incumbents get ousted. Thursday, March 18, 2010 Martyrs of the Cause Kucinich switches to YES! So much for principle and conviction. No tellin what that bunch is up to, in these political deals. Why I wonder if they aint offering 20 virgins or somethin to get these inductees to go on these sacrifical political suicide missions for them. Virtual, almost certain incumbent loss. For yes men on the quest for the glory of martyrdom in the infitada to expanding - HOLY GOVERNMENT ENTITELMENTS. Dennis Kucinich to hold his nose but vote yes on healthcare. / The Christian Science Monitor - CSMonitor.com http://blarset.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
I noted, in the very first sentence in the OP, that this was a special election due to redistricting...
