Of course he knew what was going to happen, he planned it. He incited it. He thought his people were going to sweep over the Capitol building and the Capital City and install him as Donald I, the Emperor of the new nation of Trump

He thought there were millions of people there, he's a megalomaniacal nut, the actual reality of things doesn't penetrate to him. Have you all forgotten the inauguration in 2017? His several million phantom voters that had given him the popular vote as well as the EC in the 2016 election? He thought they were there this time too, they gave him the bigly victory he was claiming

Not even his followers are as deluded as he is. They don't believe what he tells them, they just don't CARE. Trump hates the right people and that is ALL that matters to his most fanatical minions. Most of them think God will come down and wipe out all the races but the whites in the rapture or something

It was only as the day wore on and his followers were unable to kill the Congress and hang Pence as he wanted and had planned that he realized the reality of the situation and his truly craven personality took over.

I really wish we had the sort of Presidents that were around just a few years ago. It would be so satisfying to see him blubbering for mercy as he was hauled away.

It can still happen. It will be better to see him get 'due process' in the end I suppose.

I just hope they manage to impeach and remove him from office this time. That way he can't Constitutionally run again and you know he's going to try, no matter what. There are still enough crazies in his pocket that he might win too, and you know he'd NEVER step down again after that.

Why should Trump take all the blame for what happened or indeed any blame at all?

As the BBC News pointed out when BLM supporters got anywhere near the Capitol the police dealt with them harshly, but when Trump supporters got near the Capitol the police ran away and hid.

Can it be proved beyond doubt that it was Trump's sole responsibility for failing to protect the Capitol that day?

If it can't then obviously it was someone else's fault.

If they did something like Trump yes...I think this is a more direct hand though. Trump invited them to the rally, cheered them on at the rally and then cheered them on with Twitter. I can't think of any instance with the aforementioned politicians going to a rally stirring people up, and then that group that he stirred up goes and attempts a coup. Can you please provide some links with the details of these blm members, names, what they were doing, what they were arrested for and the evidence that they were BLM.

I'm seeing people associated with right wing activist groups and QAnon, so far. Someone alleged that the guy that stole the lectern was a lefty, but I haven't seen FBI verify this. Just right wing chatter.
