Do you enjoy insulting people from the "other" party?

Do you enjoy insulting people from the "other" party? If your a Republican, do you enjoy insulting Democrats? If your a democrat, do you enjoy insulting Republicans?

 

I am neither a democrat or white christian party member

 

There are many here who insult others as a standard debate tactic. They are following the scripture of Alinsky in his 5th commandment: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”

By insulting, or ridiculing, another, you are placing him on the defensive where he has to defend himself from your ridicule, as well as his position on its merits. You have the upper hand. It's a cowardly and obvious tactic that earns the one using it a prime position in my ignore list.

 

You forgot the entire talking point to include Bill Ayres and Jeremiah Wright and don't forget to throw in George Soros too

 

Im independent/libertarian, "Enjoy" it? No. They are both idiotic and it makes me sad when I have to point out their hypocrisies.

 

What do any of those people have to do with the topic at hand, or the message you quoted?

The above sarcasm is a fine example of what I am talking about. What @Guno is implying with his sarcasm is that I am some sort of right-wing talking point parrot who cannot think for himself. Alinsky-5 in action.

Insults and ridicule are the go-to weapon of the left. They use it without even thinking about it, as above. If you attempt to discuss any topic with someone on the left, often the first response you will get is that you are stupid, ill-informed, racist, and/or in favor of all manner of ill will towards your fellow man.

 

Trump, his family, and his Administration are only people worthy of "insulting".

It is virtually impossible to tell "true believers" from trolls just trying to get a rise out of people.

 

Depends who it is. Both of my sisters are drooling republicans - I try to reason with them, but they have closed their minds. I still love them but it is like religion - they are both religious and still have an imaginary friend and think I'm going to hell. I punch holes in the talking points, but insult them? NO.
Some here start thread after flamebait thread with a weak falsehood praising the reality show host - some people need to be hit with a 2 x 4 to get thru thick skulls....

 

I am the opposite. I give what I get.

 

So.....if you get respect you give respect. But if you get the dis, then you give the dis. Which is.....you saying to others. You get what you give.

 

I am a progressive who enjoys insulting democrats I suppose. Republicans aren't really to blame that they were left special by their mom knocking them down the trailer steps when she heard they had new Dale merchandise at the convenience store, but democrats should know better than to say and support most of the crap they say and support

 

I don't like the constant arguing I've seen on both sides. We should be trying to come together instead of tearing each other apart. That's not going to help anyone, or anything.

dont pretend that insults are only on the left. Both sides use it with much effect. To insinuate otherwise is simply dishonest.

I insult people sometimes too. I get annoyed sometimes and/or someone says something that is SO stupid or SO wrong, that I can't help myself. Then there are the trolls who really don't have anything to add to any discussion. They either just like to argue and would argue about anything, if they believe it or not, just to be oppositional and PITAs. It's good to take breaks from message boarding.

I'm a leftist, an atheist, and a progressive socialist, but I doubt we have much in common. FTR, I believe in the original intent of leftism. In a nutshell: to care for the least regardless of their colour/gender/politics. to provide free high quality education and healthcare for all. to protect and preserve the natural world/planet. to embrace continuous change, and absolutely embrace the fact that positive change won't always come in the forms or the politics I prefer. yadda yadda.

 

Crank, I'm not sure we agree on much in politics but the thing is as I've said elsewhere I absolutely enjoy talking to people who make cogent arguments for their viewpoints and actually make for intelligent debate, and for what it's worth, I've never regretted reading your posts. And I definitely agree with your first sentence.

Its not necessary to insult "progressives" - they have done so well making asses of themselves over the past year its not necessary to insult them.

 

I'm not much in the creative insults department, and isn't the goal to communicate with others? Otherwise what's the point?

But I can try.

As one of those rare Americans not an independent nor of the two parties, I find the two big Parties' upper ranks being mostly of narcissistic flim-flammers more interested in their profitable service to the 0.01%; this as opposed to serving their constituencies, or their country, or even their parties.

Note, I don't mean the base nor even all the politicians. They however are being buried in the con artists "product".
