No, the Democrats did. They needed a sexual assault allegation to try and stop a Trump nomination from making onto the Supreme Court. So they went hunting for someone and put a horrid story together and tried to make it stick.

None of it could be proved and the witnesses to "corroborate" the story all denied it ever happened. Even Ford's own testimony and statements were so riddled with holes she should have been brought up on charges of lying to Congress, making false statements and defamation of character and falsely accusing someone of rape.
