    I am a Northerner. My family fought for the north, get it? The people of South Carolina whose families were there during the Civil War and who are now Republicans were Democrats then. Get it? They are the Democrats that were the party of slavery, not today's Democrats.

    So which is it? The Democratic Party or The Democratic National Committee?

    Either way though the Dems are the party that fought for slavery, legislated Jim Crow Laws, and used the KKK as their militant wing - just as they're doing now with Antifa and BLM.

    It seem to be an issue though considering the fuss being made over Trump's comment.

    "“The new platform of the Democrat Party—you notice I say Democrat Party? I hate the way it sounds, that’s why I say it,” Trump said. “Because it’s really their name. It’s not the Democratic Party.”

    He seems to be yanking some chains, and doing a good job of it.

    Good point. They do tend to believe in unity of belief though those strongly held beliefs today can fluctuate from week to week. The object of their hatreds may change but hate seems to be their one constant ideology..
