President Obama tried and failed to negiotiate well. But the Donald succeeds
    where Obama failed, again!

Earlier this month, President Trump welcomed Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to the White House for the first time, praising him for doing a “fantastic job in a difficult situation.” Sisi came to power through a military coup in 2013, and the Obama administration had barred him from the White House for human-rights abuses.

Last weekend, Egyptian-American aid worker Aya Hijazi, who had become an international symbol of Sisi’s harsh crackdown on aid groups, was cleared of child-abuse and human-trafficking charges in Cairo after three years in detention.

It's good to a see a president working for the US people and not against them.

I heard about this on FOX, but MSM of course cannot say anything good about trump unless he is carrying out neocon policies like Hillary would have done. So the faux liberals here probably did not know a thing about it. Not that it would matter to them of course. They are enslaved to hatred, and hatred destroys critical thinking. Before they can post, they must wait until they are told what to say about it, so they can spin it to the negative. Yes, these folks are that transparent, and predictable.

Since trump seems to be turning into a neocon, which is opposite of what he campaigned on, he has lost support from me, but I can still acknowledge it when he does something good. But if he can never do anything good, even when he does, well, such a mind is hardly a mind worthy of listening to, right? One might say such a mind is just too defective, and what it utters is of no more value than a babbling brook. It is just too bad that this tribalism destroys all intellectual integrity and honesty. And it is incurable.

So human rights abuse should be ignored?

I'm sure the two will have chocolate cake together because these are two POS in pod.

MSM and the lame stream media dare not mention that Trump negotiated the release.
Obama hardly tried and failed miserably, so it makes the left look bad, which isn't
    hard to do!

Something's in this for Trump and his family. Probably a hotel in Cairo.

President Obama worked against the US in many ways!
It's refreshing to see a president like Trump work on issues and make changes that
help the people of the USA! To hear some of the responses on this thread you know the left is delusional. They don't even want a US hostage to be released.

They seem to think islamic terrorism is not a human rights abuse.

Trump has his moments. Unfortunately I see him moving away from his positive policies now that he's in office, and becoming more of a Clintonite war hawk.

For the past three months the US has not gotten into any new wars, thanks to Donald Trump!
Let's hope it stays that way.

He perpetrated an act of war against Syria without congressional authorisation as required by AIS8. He is war mongering against NK.

I think we're going to have more of the same we saw under Brobama and OG Bush.

They also refuse to acknowledge the statistics that show over 90% of terrorism is caused by islamic terrorists.

Obama started the Syrian mess and so far Trump has not got us into war!
Dropping a bomb was a warning, not an act of war!

We have not engaged with NK so Trump is doing better than Obama did at keeping the US out of war! But then Trump is a better negotiator and wiser!

Maybe you weren't around for Uncle "Ceegar" Bill tossing Tomahawk missiles at clothing factories in Iraq.

Uncle "Ceegar" Bill gave the US NAFTA which contributes to a lack of good jobs in the US.
Ross Perot warned us about slick Willie and his anti-American policy.

Not so special - every modern President has negotiated the release of American citizens being held overseas. Obama got several released from Iran and North Korea. It's a good thing - but it's hardly a unique achievement.

Anyway on the topic of the thread. I am glad to see them come home. Nice job Don!

They're all bastards, but that's no excuse. Leftist Presidents tend to get away with more because their base is too busy felting them to care. Eg: nobody cares about Obama's complicity in Saudi attrocities against the Yeminis.

Trump is still in the wrong.

Lol bombing military targets and killing combatants is not an act of war. What is then? Do you have to tickle his nose before it counts or something?

Jefferson would be rolling around in his grave.

I'd say an act of war is when they declare it against us or our allies. Can you think of anyone might have done that?

The founders were resoundingly clear on this topic. Many didn't even want a standing army. Jefferson, when defending against the Barbary Pirates even asked Congress for their consent. They took this **** seriously, because they thought it was emphatically the role of the people's representatives in their legislature to give consent for war.

To suggest that dropping 60 million dollars worth of bombs on military targets is not an act of war, simply to come up with an excuse to subvert the constitution, is in my view likely a deliberate act of doublethink. But alas I cannot know what is in your mind, so I'll give you a pass.

I will however encourage you to look into the framers views on the subject.

I'm tired of all of these dummies going to foreign countries and getting into trouble and expecting the government to jump through hoops to get them out. If anything we should throw their butts in jail when they return to the US.
