Trump released the contents of the call after the 'Whistle Blower' made his complaint. Everyone was then able to review its contents and judge for themselves whether there was any wrongdoing.

You're right but there aren't that many investigative journalists on the Left, and no stories that would reach the MSM, and Obama had a couple of them on the Right investigated.

It's a distraction and magnified out of all proportion to what actually happened. Now the leftist mob is using terms like 'quid pro quo' as though they have some idea of what they're actually talking about. They are very easily led in any direction and their Leftist leaders know it.

He can veto spending bills until they are smaller. He doesn't want to reduce spending any more than any other government spender.

Shutting down the government may be the only potentially successful approach to reducing spending.

Not really. The only thing that actually shuts down are some parks.

Significant correction: He released the transcript after Congress was notified about the existence of a "valid" and "urgent" whistleblower complaint.

Shutting down the governments costs the government more money than keeping it open.

First the dems whine about Trump not having enough preconditions in his negotiations with foreign powers then whine about having preconditions. You just can't please a whiner.

Significant correction: He released the transcript after Congress passed a continuing resolution including language that would override any hold.

Here is that "Valid" and "Urgent" complaint and it contains nothing but hearsay and gossip. It should never have been taken seriously but the desperate Democrats needed yet another kick at the impeachment can before the 2020 elections and this is all they had. There is nothing valid or urgent about it. https://www.cnn.com/2019/09/26/politics/read-whistleblower-complaint-trump-ukraine/index.html

No. Congress had not passed that resolution, nor would that resolution have overridden any hold immediately.

Don’t expect much from the IG report. Typically an IG report finds faults and suggests corrections to procedure. The IG does not have subpoena power so has limitations.

The curious announcement that it would become public on Dec 9th gives the culprits and their defending media plenty of time to hone their defensive responses.

The one to watch is the Durham criminal investigation.
