secular progressives celebrate Christmas too, almost all Americans do other than some Christians and a few others, but I would say 99% celebrate it

Christmas is for all Americans, not just Christians, I think that is what upsets some on the right, they want the holiday all for themselves now that it's become popular

Many modern leftists are atheist and even if not their hate of American culture compells them to wage a war on Christmas.

It's so bad that even wishing a lefty Merry Christmas infuriates them.

Every years nativity scenes are desecrated at Churches, public displays, even in the front yards of homes.

I'm expecting some Church arsons too because that's how lefties roll.

The very largely Buddhist Japanese celebrate Christmas with great gusto.

Well I haven't read or heard any stories about stories telling clerks not to say Merry Christmas, I haven't read any stories about groups on the left demanding it not be celebrated in schools or about people saying Merry Christmas.

So maybe the war is over and the supporters of Christmas won, those of Christian faith and others like be celebrate we aren't hearing it anymore.

    Have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Stores are under no obligation to promote your religion. If they don't, it isn't a war on Christmas. Same goes for public schools. Righties used to have such a victim mentality that they thought that businesses, and the government, owed them religious platitudes. Glad to see that is gone and that we can now just say MERRY CHRISTMAS honestly, without being emotionally blackmailed by fringe righties with persecution complex. Feels much better to say without having to say it just to comfort the butthurt.

In Japan, Christmas is celebrated with KFC and its the one day a year where the women will have one night stands.

Nor is there anything fake about secular conservatives and moderates and even liberals who celebrated the season. the season existed long before "the reason", "the reason" adopted the season that was already celebrated.

And that's fine I think it works out great we all celebrate for our own particular reason and we can all do it in harmony and enjoy our family and friends in this time of giving, the reasonS for the season.

ROFL "My religion"........ahhhhhh I'm an atheist.....................and I say Merry Christmas. And no the stores aren't and they aren't prohibiting it anymore, which were the complaints, I guess because I haven't heard any more stories about it and I am hearing it and seeing it all over now along with other seasons greatings.

That's great let's all celebrate in harmony.

Good for you. I am as well, and I do too. I just don't placate the fringe right when they pretend they are victimized when someone says "Happy Holidays" instead or changes the color of their coffee cups.

You are going to have to rewrite this whole thing if you want it to make any kind of sense at all.

To you and yours as well.

I can't think of a single secular person who would disagree with you. But it is precisely this kind of sentiment that triggered socially conservative Christians into thinking there was a "war on Christmas" in the first place.

No it was because stores and governments were prohibiting even saying Merry Christmas. I think the stores and local governments decided that wasn't such a great idea and it's cooled off on both sides now.

I suppose it is possible that, somewhere out there in the country, there was a business who told their employees that they weren't even so much as allowed to tell someone Merry Christmas. It's possible. I see no evidence of it it, but it is possible. But more than likely it is just a part of fringe right victim narrative. Meanwhile, no government has prohibited the public from saying it.

The poster gave you 3 separate replies with links that directly countered your conceptions. Ironic you use the terms, "excuses" and "remember".

Sometimes it is just best to walk away.

there is absolutely nothing wrong with wishing someone happy holidays, I do it all winter (except on Christmas day of course, then I say merry christmas), it's just natural

I do not say happy new year on dec 1st either, but I do say it on Jan 1st

I may say "hope you have a merry christmas and a happy new year", but not just plain "merry christmas" or plain "happy new year" on days other then those holidays --- "happy holidays" is shorter and covers all the holidays, can be said all winter long and without offending anyone, the displays can be left up all winter long, so obviously retailers prefer it

“The left” never declared war on Christmas. Except in the minds of RW rubes who bought a lie from their RW media masters.
