I like your thought and heart, but cannot let myself share it completely.

Our reality, has men try to win our genetic prize and raison daitre, women, by showing our fitness through physical contests and fights.

The above applies to protecting our women as well.

I do not think you can take that out of us and end with a decent human.

Come after my woman, Satan, and ----

Achmed the dead terrorist - Silence, I kill You - YouTube

    --- type of thing.

The best example of what you want is likely shown in the King Penguin.

They compete via cooperation and dance, but the least fit still die.

    Humanity must allow the same.

All we can do and are good at is mitigating the harm.

Look around. We are doing fantastically.

Again, I'd point out that a significant majority of the PEOPLE of the USA DEMANDED that war. Elected officials who opposed the conquest of Afghanistan were reviled across our nation.

Now you want to blame that decision on the GOVERNMENT!

What kind of government are you hoping for?

So far, you are arguing for a government that listens to us even less.
I'm pretty sure I don't know where you are going with this.

There are atrocities throughout history. We've been the guilty party in some.

I don't think you are really trying to downplay the horror of slavery or justifying war simply by suggesting that other behavior has been more lethal.

Indeed, and peace is only ours since M. A. D. has shown us just how insane we might all be.

I like that we are an hierarchical people.

Science says that the world will eventually be forced to unite as one.

Only at that point in time will we recognize our fittest people and put them in charge.

We pay a huge amount for redundant government services.

Unification and reductions via attrition and stabilizing economies will make us all rich.

In evolutionary terms, we are nearly ready for our next step in civilizations.

The sooner we rid ourselves of right wing thinking, the sooner the world will unite and thrive.

Please indicate a case in modern American history when an agent of a foreign power came after us in order to have our women.

    Helen of Troy.

    That aside.

I was speaking of our DNA and what motivates us to do evil.

If you need a more modern possibility, reverse the locations and try thinking of Trump in love with the Russian who peed on him.

That might be what made him a possible traitor to the U.S.

The Left, most of it, has forgotten how to think.

"'The eradication of state power' which as a 'parasitic excrescence'; it's 'amputation'; it's 'destruction'; 'state power is now becoming outmoded'; these are the expressions used by Marx about the state when appraising and analyzing the experience of the commune." All this was written a little less than half a century ago; and now it is like having to carry out excavations in order to bring a knowledge of undistorted Marxism to the broad masses." THE STATE AND REVOLUTION, VI Lenin, Penguin, 1992 p. 49.

Americans opposed war after WW I. It took a victory in WW II to make them more receptive to war propaganda. 75 years of no-win warfare culminating in the Taliban's rout of our forces in Afghanistan has eliminated almost all support for the warmongers.

The release of de Soto's pigs was not an atrocity.

This started out as an accusation that our government is not responsive to the people.

I'm stating that these wars prove that our government IS responsive.

The people demanded our wars in Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq, and there was major pressure to go beyond that.

Plus, we the people demand that we support wars by others even when those wars have no possible justification based on the fundamental principles we stand for - as proven in our support for Israel's perpetual war against Gaza and the humanitarian atrocity being carried out against West Bank.

That situation exists BECAUSE our government listens to US citizens.

    IMO, you have it backwards.
Americans, at least since 1945, have to listened to government and the establishment media. Government and the MSM have finally lost all credibility.

As I pointed out, our history of post-WWII military conflict demonstrates the government listening to the people.

I haven't seen you come up with evidence of your idea here.

Your first is a stupid statement.

    As to your other foolishness.

All life is based on parasites.

What is humanity if not that?

All life feeds on the death of something.

If the moderate left did not clean up the rights economic mess, we could hardly pump more money into our military complex now could we?

That last bit is a joke to warm your heart.

    1. The first statement is self evident.
    2. It was not my statement - it was VI Lenin's statement.
    3. Good joke. Yes, the "moderate left" has always been willing to "pump more money into our military complex". Alas.

    QUOTE="Ddyad, post: 1073085865, member: 69887"]Who cried: "WMDs! WMDs! WMDFs!"?[/QUOTE]
There was plenty of accurate information on WMDs available.

It is true that the Bush administration desperately wanted that war for reasons not even slightly limited by the WMD argument. But, the people were fine with it, too.

Those who opposed that war were attacked throughout the press as totally anti-American. My own representative was Jim McDermott. Republicans started calling him "Baghdad Jim", because of how strongly they saw his war opposition is being a solid threat to America by someone who cared about Iraq more than the USA.

Your 3 is just plain partisan ridiculousness.

The push for military spending comes from the right.

And, the thing that defines "moderate" is that such individuals are much more likely to cooperate and negotiate when it means that other important objectives may be achieved.

Again. both parties have a strong bias in favor of increased spending for everything. The DP/RP voted to disperse $6.5 Trillion to their good buddies for the Afghan War boondoggle.

"Cuts" are usually more about which districts and states will lose the contracts.
CNN, Clinton wants biggest boost in defense spending since Reagan, From Military Affairs Correspondent Jamie Mcintyre, January 24, 2000.

Again, that is what we the people told government to do.

    So, our government did it.

You can't blame the government for that.

We the people told Pres. Johnson to escalate the war in Vietnam. He accepted that demand even though he was very much opposed to the war in Vietnam.

You keep wanting to blame government, our government in particular. But, I just don't see you having any success at that. Our government is run by we, the people.

The government decided to act and asked for public support in every instance.
Some people were persuaded to support the government.
Anti-war sentiment expands as every military adventure ends in disaster for the nation.

    I don't agree with this.

The people were involved in all the decisions to mention. There have always been alternatives.

With Iraq, France and other nations in the UN pointed out clear direction that avoided war. The IAEA pointed out that Iraq could be used as a platform for establishing a world wide protocol on preventing countries from developing nuclear weapons. The US population knew about that, and they were decidedly NOT interested.

One might argue that our desire for war has had changes in intensity, lowering after Vietnam, then rising again, for example. But, I don't see any long term reduction. As a nation, we still see war as more successful than negotiation. In fact, we really aren't interested in conflict resolution by negotiation.

Look what US opinion is of creating a multinational approach to blocking Iran's progress toward nuclear weapons. The US hated that. And, it's been pointed out that since 2000 or so, our foreign service has been reduced to about the size of the combined military marching bands.

When we conquered Iraq, our State Department was completely eliminated from any contribution. We LOVED the war. We LOVED the way the military kicked ass - even when they slaughtered the wrong groups. We LOVED the way they overrode the election in Iraq. We don't even mind that our military established an anti-American government aligned with Iran!
