porn, gambling and hard drugs would ever become mainstream. Or that we could
abort a child the day it's due, or have someone euthanased just because they want
it. No-one expected our progressive education would leave our kids three years
behind those of Singapore and South Korea - and these same kids would one day
eat our breakfast.
But for me - the things progressives told me in the 1960's 'will never happen' have
happened, and worse.

I know right, when people put up statues to honor enemies of our nation they never thought people would one day have the balls to say "why are we honoring someone that took up arms against our very nation?"

Has that ever stopped? Hell in the 60s you dream about people of a certain skin color could not even eat at the same place as you. I guess you miss those days.

That is what happens when you let adults make their own decisions instead of having the government tell them what is moral and what is not. But I still find it better than having a total nanny state, but that is just me.

There are close to 10 casinos within 30 miles of me. Sports betting is now legal in all 50 states if I am not mistaken. There are literally apps for you phone that allow you to gamble at any time.

Porn has always been there, Playboy started in the 50s, Penthouse in the 60s. Now we have the internet and porn sites always have the most traffic.

But as long as it all is just consenting adults it is not really anyone else's business.

 

When we 'liberalized' divorce laws we made a pact with the devil - we dealt
with the 'problem' which is 'irreconcilable differences' in a certain percentage
of marriages. The PRICE is to subtly redefine marriage - and this leads to
NEW PROBLEMS, including the kids, ideas of commitment, marrying the
govt. through welfare dependency etc.. Same with gambling, drugs, porn
etc.. Nothing is free - the end of censorship lead to the avalanche of porn
which dehumanizes people, for instance.
There's no free lunch with social 'reform.'
Required speech is the growing use of political correct terms, such as
gender pronouns.
It wasn't the 'government' which told people what to do - it was society. In
other words, other people.

I used to wonder what a 'post-religious world' would look like. I felt I had
the answer the day I read that 6 and 7 years old boys in Australian
schools had to a 'remedial course' in learning not to sexually abuse girls
or think of them in a sexual objects. That would have been unimaginable
back in the age when some girls were stuck in bad marriages.

 

That would be against the law, and that is not what is happening.

Why do you have such issue with corporations running their business as they best see fit? This is not the first time you rave about them making business decisions on their own.

This is accurate, sort of. We did open up other problems when we no longer forced women to be married to someone they did not want to be married to. We gave women a voice and allowed them to leave abuse or loveless marriages. In other words we allowed adults to make adult decisions. Yes, that does lead to problems as we humans are a flawed race.

This did indeed happen, we did redefine marriage. Now look at what has happened...black are marrying white and men are marrying men and all hell is breaking lose on earth and it is the end of the world as we know it! Though personally I am ok with all of those things.

Porn is as old as prostitutes. If you do not wish to indulge in porn then do not. It is not your place to tell other consenting adults what to do with their free time.
