I think that a movie about Tubman would revolve around the fact that she was Black - so casting a white woman in a film about Black struggle would be a little ridiculous. But was his 'whiteness' center to the character of MacBeth?

As much as the left doesn't like to admit it color isn't even a factor in 18-40 year olds, times have changed and society has a way of filtering out wrongs of the past without some radical woke screaming rages. By no means is there not some racism from both sides but it is drowned out by normal people that now see people for who they are versus the color of their skin or their gender. Losers are losers, winners are winners regardless of race or gender in todays world and it great to see how far we've come in my 40 years on this earth.

I completely agree that those younger (certainly than me at 60) are far more open minded and take things like homosexuality, gender transition and skin color in their stride. Unfortunately, those aren't the people making laws for the most part.

You said a shift that is casting people because of their skills and not their skin color. A good thing in your view. Meryl Streep is a very skilled actress and could probably portray Harriet Tubman magnificently and win a Best actress for her portrayal of Harriet Tubman, so there really shouldn't be an issue with skilled White people playing famous Black people, whether real or fictional. Maybe Keanu Reeves could be cast as the new Marvel character Black Panther. You said Meryl Streep would be ridiculous as Harriet Tubman, but I think Rachel Levine as a Woman or Lia Thomas as a female swimmer is equally ridiculous and this is what Liberals have foisted upon us.
