The country no longer laughs after Romney balked at reveling the massive fortunes he had salted away in overseas tax-avoidance banks from his disassembly of American companies and and theft of worker earned retirements and benefits.

Her spending ALL the money buying some more groceries and turning her thermostat up so she doesn't end up sick is a hell of a lot better for us compared to that.

"Emergency" sounds better to the masses than "Yet Another Extension for the Perpetually Unemployed" Unemployment Benefit

Only if we cut multimillion dollar bonuses for corporate welfare, retroactively to the 1980s.

    Not here.

The lines are immense when a new burger joint opens. round the country, we have 5 THOUSAND people lining up for a few hundred minimum wage jobs at new stores.

Republicans don't just want FIVE or SIX unemployed AMERICANS for EVERY available job, they demand and ENJOY having FIVE or SIX DESPERATE people for EVERY available job.

What a pathetic false argument, and COMPLETELY unrelated to the issue. Do note the slanderous BS about Americans - MOST of the unemployed Americans WANT a job!

When you vote Republican, you vote for someone who will call you a deadbeat or failure when some greedy employer decides you are too close to retirement, too old and slow, and need to be replaced by a young worker or illegal alien at minimum wage or less.

NO ONE is proposing we support unemployed people "forever", the bill proposed pays for a few MONTHS of support. That is ALL!

That describes most of the programs we had in the programs int he past that Republicans claim "did no good" and were a waste of money. Many cities STILL depend on those infrastructure projects - water systems, waste systems, parks, buildings, etc.

That plan would be great, but the Republicans have blocked those ideas since I started voting. Look in the mirror for the source of these bad practices you complain about.

No you wouldn't. You wouldn't even uphold our own Doctrine and State laws regarding the concept of employment at will.

Is there some pare of "unnecessary" you don't understand? According to CNN money we lost about "8.8 million jobs between January 2008 and February 2010". According to the BLS unemployment has slowly but steadily dropped ( with a few hiccups) to 7%. According to Obama we've gained back 8 million jobs, almost as much as were lost during the worst jobs losses after the crash. Why on Earth is he out there stumping for extending unemployment? If you listen to them tell it, we're almost back to where we were before Jan 2008, who are all these people that need to keep collecting unemployment?

We could end our War on Poverty through a simpler social safety net on an at-will basis.

Making the unemployed homeless would be a terrible waste of resources. You'd probably be a lot happier if you could stack them up in cords and burn them to keep you warm on cold days.

What kind of "community service" did you have in mind? Pick your cotton? Maybe shine your shoes?

The difference between your and mine thinking is profound. 60 weeks of unemployment benefits is FOREVER! 70 weeks of unemployment benefits is outrageous and promotes laziness. 99 weeks? WTF are we doing, paying people for 2 years to stay at home, drinking beer and watching football... It's insane.

Nothing happens if for you it's a win-win either way.

Why don't you run for office? You might be more honest then today's politicians.

I didn't follow yor win win comment.

Dept of HHS got a raise of $3.9 billion for a total of $80.1 billion for 2014
Dept of education got a raise of $3.1 billion for a total of $71.2 billion for 2014

Let's take 3 billion from each.

What I meant was the President wins either way if the proposed continued benefits are approved or if they were rejected. If they are approved, he wins since he can claim that he was able to continue them; if they are not approved, he can blame the republicans for failing to approve them, thus throwing people under the bus. Politically I don't think he can lose in this case.

You Righties must really think Obama IS the Messiah if you believe he was supposed to stop the 800,000 jobs PER MONTH we were losing on the VERY DAY Obama was sworn in, massive job and wealth losses because of the Republicans' disastrous economic policies for the previous 8 years!

Your stupid propaganda trickery with dates is NOT going to fly with the regular American voter. Everyone except the Fox News cud-chewers KNOWS who gutted our economy and the American worker - the Right - and its particularly laughable that the Republicans propose the SAME absurd policies that make the rich richer and workers poorer as some kind of a "cure" to the injuries they inflicted on the regular American economy!

    Fail.

We are back to where we were when the crash happened. Either Obamanomics worked and we no longer need to extend unemployment benefits because Obama fixed the economy....OR.....Obamanomics failed and we need to extend the unemployment benefits. Which is it Dave?

    Uh, no.

The economy LOST 100 trillion or more dollars of wealth. The stock market had dropped in HALF! The housing market was DEAD as a doornail, tens of MILLIONS of good jobs in the financial industries, housing industries, insurance industries, manufacturing industries so much more.

The economy had had a Republican hurricane devastate it, and after the damage had started in the year after it had hit after we were bleeding 800,000 jobs per month under the eight years of Republican policies.

Obama STOPPED that 800,000 job per month loss.

But that doesn't "fix" an economy raped and pirated of 6 years of fake wealth from the republican balloon of unreal value, and the Republican lack of regulation that allowed the wealthiest to finish looting every financial institution in the country while the Republicans laughed and waited for the "invisible hand of the market" to slap down these looters.

You sound like the real estate salesman in Jaws who doesn't care how many kids get eaten by the shark as long as the island attracks plenty of visitors for the 4th of July weekend.

The issue cannot be right either way it goes so to he'll with all the spinmeisters who care about Obama more than what's best for the country.

If illegals ended up supporting me... I'd have to reassess the platform on which I was running.

But to answer your question, no... I wouldn't exploit people for my gain.
    I'm not a democrat.

Why is it that the right only complains about "bad" laws regarding only Arms? Do they care not for being legal to own laws, but for a profit motive.

Not the way you look at it.

To you this is just a game that you think your side is going to win.
