Thank you for sharing! I am proud of my great-grandparents who were building Soviet Russia during the Revolution and Civil War. Communism turned Totalitarian only much later -- in late 1920s and 1930s. My grandparents suffered tremendously during the Great Patriotic War, but thank G-d no one was on the territory occupied by the Nazis. My parents experienced some anti-Semitism. They obtained their degrees during Khrushchev's reign -- he was more tolerant then Brezhnev. I almost never experienced anti-Semitism as I left USSR at an early age. In USA I encountered almost no anti-Semitism except some jokes in High School.
