I’ll admit I don’t follow Turkey very close. From here, it looks like they’ve drifted off course from being a secular, Western democracy.

I have news for you, Turkey was sending terrorists into Syria so they could fight the Kurds. As for Turkey not making money off ISIS, well maybe not Turkey, but Bilal Erdogan was making billions with his tanker trucks - that is before Russia bombed them.

According to this video, there are 11 thousand 7 hundred ISIS tanker trucks on both sides of the Turkish border.

Here's a documentary with the bill of sales, that proves Turkey was buying oil from ISIS in return for supplies. Vladimir Putin also said at a meeting a few years back that he had the names of 30 nations that were buying the stolen oil from Turkey - one was Japan, and another Israel.

Anyway I wouldn't believe what the Turkish newspapers write. The reporters that tried to present the truth have paid dearly for it - and they deserve everyone's respect. Especially considering how cowardly our own reporters are.

Turkey has a different 'civilizational' basis than Europe, since its founded on Islam rather than Christianity and so they had a hard time trying to adapt to the EU rules. This is why they are not a member, even though they have been working on it for years.

Here's something that should be of interest. Erdogan decided to release the two Greek soldiers he kidnapped but not Branson - no doubt as an affront to Trump. He wants to show that he can do whatever he wants.

Well it certainly shocked the Greeks, they didn't expect it.

Erdogan and Kim both are showing the world just how inept a leader and negotiator Trump really is, at least in the role of a head of state. Trump thinks he can behave as a president the same way he would behave in business negotiations and win, win, win.

You believe what fits your interests.

We made oil trade with Syrian Rebel Groups they were not ISIS.

We trained Syrian opponents with support of USA. Now you are calling them as "terrorists" come from Turkey to Syria. You are amazing. If they are terrorist, you provided their weapons too hahaha

All of the arguments that you shared here are originally fabricated by Russia after we hit their aircraft.

We always transfer oil to Israel. Even Turkey Israel relation seem in trouble. They are always our energy partner. :)

No I don't see any difference Turks and Greek plus Greeks are more lazy and Greek girls are more hot ;) They developed with the financial support of European Union they were not better than us.

European Union never kept its promises for my country since they are a rich selfish Christian Union. We accepted 4 million Syrians in turn of 7 billion euros financial support but EU paid just 3 billion and they also promised us to cancel visa if we accept all the refuges but they are liars. We paid Syrians for 16 billion euros by ourselves, shame on you and your humanity and USA attacks our economy

We did not kidnap your soldiers, they violated our border. If our soldiers did same, we would see same approach from you. But I hope they will be free.

Why don't you talk about Greece helps Turkish Generals joined the failed coup? Why Greek government protects the traitors ? Answer.

You don't know anything about our people. If a natural disaster happens in Greece Turks will open their country more much than any other country. You want just to stay being enemy. As we did same for Syrians. In normal condition none of Syrians will do same for us neither You!

If I recall, wasn't it the Greeks who helped the Turks during the earthquake in Istanbul? Because of the Greek generosity, Erdogan promised he would make reparations for the pogrom and 'krystalnacht' of the 1950's when they kicked out the inhabitants who just happened to have been there for almost 3 thousand years. Of course they got nothing. So much for gratitude.

As for the Turks helping Greece during a catastrophe, ha! You forget that when the Turks enter a place they never leave. Anyway you're going to have a nice battle with Exxon/Mobil in Cyprus. So tell me, who gave Turkey the right to say anything about Cyprus, isn't it a sovereign nation? Oh that's right, Turkey is a law unto itself.

Greeks received same generosity after earthquake in Athens. Also we have proposed Greek Adminisration to send our helicopters during fire even Greece protected terrorists who joined failed coup... whatever Greek administration rejected our proposal and many Greeks died. Greek Administration asked help from Germany (That's was very stupid Izmir is more close to Athens than Germans, those Greeks were burned because of Greek Government our helicopters were ready )

Yes Turks made bad thing on that time after a lie on newspaper. It was report that Greeks attacked Ataturk house and killed Turks in West Trace. It was a lie and provocated people. I accept that it was wrong, but what can I do myself ?

I said you several times, Greece and Greek Cypriots should recognize the rights of Turkish Cypriots who are also inhabitants of the island since 1574. We captured the island from Catholic Crusaders not from Byzantium. :)

Cyprus is not only belong to Greeks, in the past EOKA tried to unify the island with Greece and attempted to make genocide against Turkish Cypriots thats why we invaded North. This is fair.

Recognize them, solve the issue. North and South can unify again if Turkish Cypriots are recognized.

We did not invade North because we were bored. We invaded there to protect lifes if our relatives. Still Greek racist logic is same as for Cypriot Turks should be destroyed from Cyprus.

Northern Cyprus is also economical burden for us. We run their economy. This is because of Greeks.

Greek and Turkish were both officilal language of Cyprus but Greeks violated 1960 Agreement !!! Island has two nations, not only belong to Turks or Greeks. It belongs both!

Also real invader is England they are not belong there. I support unification of North and South and kicking British over there. Cyprus is not a British colony. It is turkogreek nation.

Erdogan does not understand that the inflation of a national currency whose economy constantly lives on credits, will grow up without limit. He instead believes in conspiracy theories, that extern enemies want to crush Turkey.

Erdogan has forbidden the press to report negatively on the Turkish economy. He also banned companies from filing for bankruptcy. He behaves like a doctor who forbids patients to die, if they're terminally ill.

This guy is completely crazy. He is the Turkish version of Donald Trump.

Turkey is a member of NATO with the second largest army in NATO. Agree, not quite a normal situation, when 60.2% of the population of the country - a member of NATO - considers its main enemy of the United States.

Below is an insightful article by Robert Fisk on the US-Turkey brawl. Fisk absolutely foes not buy into the reasons floated by the US, namely, the ongoing detention of Pastor Brunson, which he views as an excuse to cover the true reasons for Trump's growing hostility.

    Agreed Cerb.

Ever since they tried to off Erdogan in that failed coup, relations have understandably deteriorated. That happens when someone tries to kill you...

    So you admit that fault.
We will not release the pastor, he will be judged. We have strong evidences that he is connected with Fethullah Gulen.

Maybe you should give us Gulen and we may give you the pastor

Erdogan ended the pause and moved on to active action.
The official publication of the Resmi Gazete published a decree of the Turkish president on a sharp increase in import duties on American-made goods. In particular, tobacco products by 60%, alcohol by 140%, cars by 120%, by cosmetics by 60%, by rice by 50%, by fruits by 20%. In response, the United States announced a completely unmotivated aggression in the behavior of the Turkish leadership, and complete refusal on its part to supply Turkey even the already paid F-35 aircraft. The officers of the Turkish Air Force, who were trained in the US, were deported from the country.
And now it became known about the activation of Ankara activities to translate trade relations with the maximum possible list of countries for direct settlements in national currencies, without using the dollar. So far, Russia, China, Iran and Ukraine are named as key areas. A likely partner is the EU.
What the Turks can achieve, now becomes the main issue of the current moment. On the basis of still very recent ideas about the global nature of American power, the United States (with a GDP of $ 19.3 trillion) was supposed to slam Turkey (with a GDP of 0.85 trillion dollars) in an instant. However, so far the picture is much less clear. The rate of the Turkish lira, of course, sank by as much as 25%, in the economy it struck, of course, seriously. The Central Bank noted the jump in inflation to 20%. However, to a large extent this result is due not so much to the actions of the US government, as to the inconsistent and obviously populist financial policy of the Turkish Central Bank itself, headed by Erdogan's son-in-law.

However, all this is lyrics, the main thing in the other. If can resist the United States, even a small country like Turkey, with the help of dedollarization and the rapid change of the geopolitical vector, then has all the chances to launch similar processes and in other places, from Europe to the Middle East.

And the paradox of what is happening is that Washington by actions itself against Ankara, himself put a "fork". On the one hand, impossible too much strong beat Erdogan . The economic collapse of Turkey is fraught with socio-political destabilization in it, including the sharp activation of Islamic radicals, as well as the aggravation of many other internal conflicts, including the Kurdish one. Thus, NATO is forced either to launch a "peacekeeping operation" like KFOR, but already on its own territory of the alliance, with an obvious prospect of defeat in it, or immediately exclude Turks from the Alliance.
In both cases, for the rest of the participants, first of all, Berlin and Paris, the need to remain in NATO will become even more doubtful. And it may very well be that they will prefer to reformat NATO into the common army of the EU, including through the exclusion of the United States. As an option - they, and a number of their supporting countries, will simply withdraw from NATO and establish their own EuroForce.
In general, severely punish Turkey for Washington is very fraught. However, if not punish Turkey, then there is a very non-zero risk, that Erdogan will stand, thereby gaining a geopolitical victory even more significant to the public than it did with the leader of North Korea. The scale of US geopolitical losses in this case is difficult to overestimate. America will very quickly encounter a sharp drop in "discipline" within the Western world, and it will not be able to draw a war against the entire world right away.
Before our very eyes a very important geopolitical party is developing, which can change a lot in the current world. And yet, some two decades ago, who could have guessed that Turkey would be the weakest link in the American "Anakonda"?

And they continue to plan a coup. Soon you will see the same thing that started in Syria. Anti-government speeches will begin. Western media will blame Erdogan for cruelty ... in general everything is like in Syria or Libya. Crazy in Washington have the experience of destroying peoples.
But, if the Turks can resist the attempts of madmen from Washington to destroy their country, Turkey will remain a peaceful country.
