To me this indicates they are going after Trump, and with the information we already know, it seems like they will have a strong case.
If I remember correctly, pleading the fifth isn't able to be used if there is an immunity order in place.
They want answers, and only really care about prosecuting one person. I originally thought this situation would just be left to fade into the past, but apparently not.
I really don't see how Trump has a leg to stand on.

You're correct about the 5th and immunity.

Patel has his hands in every scheming charade of Trumps for years.
Have to check and see if his arrogant mouth has anything to say today.

Soon after 8/8 it was reported, and I can't find it, that the FBI has both him and John Solomon on Mar a Largo's security footage removing boxes of documents.

Hadn't heard that one... they 100% have that Walt guy on video moving stuff... and he's going to be retestifying at some point...

Not sure it matters who physically moved the boxes... Who gave the order??

Clearly, it was Barron, who wanted room for his Foosball table...

I just hope the Grand Jury has immediate access to a shower after listening to Kash Patel for a few hours...

It matters because it shows again that the documents weren't appropriately secured according to govt classified standards and the person(s) not having the security clearance to be near/touch them, no less view them.

The Patel/Solomon claim came out when the news that the FBI had subpoenaed the MaL security footage for a 2nd time after having viewed the first subpoenaed security tapes and the 2 were on the 1st tape.
Weeks went by before the Walt info came out and iirc: it wasn't made clear that Walt was the only one caught on tape.
Kash is the big player and the FBI may have wanted Walt's testimony before touching Patel?
Solomon did make a statement that he didn't touch the documents.
There's no way in hell that Patel's fingerprints aren't all over the top-secret etc documents.
His saliva from drooling is probably on them too. lol

That's going to be a very minor charge, and one the DOJ will clearly give immunity on to determine who authorized moving the documents to Florida in the first place and who told people to move them from one location to another..

You'd have to prove the "movers" knew what was in the boxes, which could be difficult as well..

This is a perfect example of moving up the guilt food chain...

"Did you know what was in the boxes?"
"Who told you to move them?"
"Was any reason given as to why they needed to be moved?"

Patel's "spokesman" and not his attorney. ???
John Solomon could be his "spokesman" today...lol
    If true, what happens now?

    Updated 3:02 pm today

    CNN —

"Kash Patel, an adviser to Donald Trump, testified on Thursday before a federal grand jury investigating the handling of records taken to the former president’s Mar-a-Lago home and resort, a source familiar with the matter tells CNN.

A federal judge had ordered Patel to testify before the grand jury, granting him immunity from prosecution on any information he provides to the investigation. The court’s decision is under seal, and grand jury proceedings are secret.

A Patel spokesman said: “Mr. Patel categorically denies reaching any immunity ‘deal’ with the government. Rather, his testimony was compelled over his objection through the only legal means available to the government – a grant of limited immunity.”

Patel was subpoenaed to the secret grand jury last month but declined to answer questions by asserting his Fifth Amendment protection from self-incrimination."

Will see what other Trump lawyers were sanctioned besides Habba

"Fed judge SANCTIONS TFG attorneys for massive and "frivolous" RICO suit over Russia probe" (Twitter)

    Adam Klasfeld (@KlasfeldReports):

A federal judge SANCTIONS Trump's attorneys — including Alina Habba — for the massive and "frivolous" RICO suit over the Russia probe. Brutal takedown of the "shotgun lawsuit" and "performative litigation," resolving only one sanctions motion.

"Lawyers are enabling this behavior and I am pessimistic that Rule 11 alone can effectively stem this abuse. Aspects may be beyond the purview of the judiciary, requiring attention of the Bar and disciplinary authorities."

What is going to finally push Trump over the edge ....Hillary? lol

The sanctions are from Trump's suit against Hillary etc. which was dismissed and then recently Hillary filled suit to have Trump pay her and other's defense costs in his Russia lawsuits against them.

Judge slaps sanctions on Trump lawyers for ‘frivolous’ Clinton lawsuit

"The judge said Trump’s lawyers pressed on with claims that were farcical or false, even after being put on notice that they were erroneous.

"A federal judge on Thursday excoriated and sanctioned several members of Donald Trump’s legal team, saying the former president’s massive lawsuit against his former rival, Hillary Clinton, and dozens of other adversaries amounted to an intentional abuse of the legal system.

“These were political grievances masquerading as legal claims,” said U.S. District Court Judge Donald Middlebrooks, a Florida-based jurist who dismissed Trump’s lawsuit in September. “This cannot be attributed to incompetent lawyering. It was a deliberate use of the judicial system to pursue a political agenda.”

Middlebrooks ordered the attorneys to pay $50,000 to the court and more than $16,000 in legal fees to Charles Dolan, one of the defendants, who initiated the sanctions proceedings against Trump’s attorneys. The attorneys ordered to pay the sanctions costs include one of the most prominent members of Trump’s current coterie of lawyers, Alina Habba, as well as his lead local counsel in the Clinton suit, Peter Ticktin, and two others: Michael Madaio and Jamie Sasson."

Ticktin said in an email Thursday that he needed to contact Habba before offering a response to Middlebrooks’ 19-page sanctions order. A spokesperson for Habba did not immediately respond to a request for comment."

The piddling amount I believe is for just one of the ex-defendant's legal costs, Dolans.
Hillary/DNC and others Trump sued are suing Trump for a million for his tossed conspiracy lawsuit.
This could just be the beginning?

    Snip:

"Trump filed the sprawling civil suit in March, alleging Clinton, the Democratic National Committee, White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan and more than a dozen others orchestrated a malicious conspiracy to undermine his presidential prospects in 2016 by accusing his campaign of colluding with Russia.

The suit names Sullivan in his capacity as Clinton’s chief foreign policy adviser during her campaign.

Clinton’s attorneys for months have cast Trump’s suit as being politically motivated, and a judge appointed by former President Bill Clinton in September tossed the suit, describing it as “political manifesto.” Trump has since appealed to the 11th Circuit.

Under federal law, a judge can require attorneys who “unreasonably and vexatiously” multiply court proceedings to pay excess costs, expenses and attorneys’ fees reasonably incurred because of their actions.

you know, most Republicans get into trouble if they do something wrong.

And most Democrat Politicians get away with things. It's a two tier Justice system.

That's why Trump is a Democrat Politician. That's why he gets away with things.

Trump has helped the democrats divide the country more than any other democrat could have tried to do so.

Great news that Jack Smith approved all of today's DOJ's arguments.

DOJ, Trump lawyers set to clash before appeals court over seized documents

And this is supposed to be some kind of admissible evidence that Trump is not in possession of any more classified/etc documents? LOL

It's the same as a drug dealer who had his drugs seized 5 months ago telling the judge that a 3rd party, who doesn't sell drugs, searched their residence and found no drugs.

Trump team searches two of his properties amid court battle with DOJ
    Source: Washington Post

Lawyers for former president Donald Trump conducted a search of at least two of his properties for classified materials in recent weeks, after they were instructed by a federal judge to attest they had fully complied with a May grand jury subpoena to turn over all materials bearing classified markings, according to people familiar with the matter.

Trump’s legal team hired an outside firm to carry out the search of his golf club in Bedminster, N.J., and, more recently, Trump Tower in New York, according to the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive information.

The team also offered the FBI the opportunity to observe the search, but the offer was declined, the people said. It would be unusual for federal agents to monitor a search of someone’s property conducted by anyone other than another law enforcement agency. Federal authorities have already searched Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s primary residence, and he spends almost all of his time at those three properties, advisers say.

Trump’s lawyers have told the Justice Department that the outside team did not turn up any new classified information during their search, according to people familiar with the process, and have said they utilized a firm that had expertise in searching for documents. A spokesman for the Justice Department declined to comment. A spokeswoman for the FBI declined to comment.

    Finally!
I've been waiting for one of the most ridiculous, comic actions taken by a defense attorney/team then presented to the court as proof to be called to task by the judge.
Trump most likely used a few of his stooges, like Patel and Solomon, or Habba and Bobbs....lol

    btw:
    Jack Smith is in town.

'Trump loses again in yet another court fight over Mar-a-Lago documents scandal '

    Brad Reed 41 mins ago

"The New York Times reports that Beryl A. Howell, the chief judge of the Federal District Court in Washington, rules that the former president's lawyers have to hand over the names of private investigators whom they claimed conducted searches of Trump properties for additional classified documents.

According to the Times, the Department of Justice wants the names of the investigators so it can question them personally on their findings.

"The fact that the Justice Department sought a formal order for the investigators’ names suggests an increasing breakdown in trust between prosecutors investigating the documents case and Mr. Trump’s legal team," the paper writes.

"And the request comes as a special counsel has taken over the inquiry into whether Mr. Trump willfully retained sensitive records or obstructed the government’s efforts to retrieve them."

'2 people who searched Trump properties for classified documents testified before federal grand jury'
    Source: CNN Politics

CNN — Two people who found two classified documents in a Florida storage facility for Donald Trump have testified before a federal grand jury in Washington that’s looking at the former president’s handling of national security records at his Mar-a-Lago residence, according to sources familiar with the investigation.

The two individuals who were hired to search four of Trump’s properties last fall were each interviewed for about three hours in separate appearances last week. They were hired to search Trump’s Bedminster golf club, Trump Tower in New York, an office location in Florida and a storage unit in Florida last October, months after the FBI executed a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago.

The extent of information they offered the grand jury remains unclear, though they didn’t decline to answer any questions, one of the sources said. The development comes at the same time federal prosecutors are pushing to look at files on a laptop of at least one staff member around Trump at Mar-a-Lago, according to multiple sources.

At times, the special counsel’s office has been unwilling to negotiate with defense attorneys over recent subpoenas, leading to tense conversations. By pushing for access to computers, investigators are trying to determine if there is an electronic paper trail regarding the classified documents, another source said.
