Why do you assume they crossed the border without papers? Most so-called illegal immigrants entered legally.

In any case, the fact that you disagree with this, but not with the main premise of the OP. Which was that the Mueller Report found Trump guilty of the crime I quoted. That was my point. So don't worry about it, because that was my main purpose.

How about the fact that unlawful presence isn't a crime?

Unlawful presence is not considered a crime. It's a civil violation and the consequence may be deportation.

Does it say anywhere in there that it's a criminal statute? Only if you return after being barred would you be treated as a criminal.

It is not just an "urge" to call them criminal invaders, it is stating fact.

Of course it's a crime, that's what unlawful means. And the consequence of overstaying by 180 days is deportation and a three year ban, over 365 days means a ten year ban, and over three years means a permanent ban on re-entry. The only difference between a civil and a criminal statute is whether the government is going to punish you, and since the government is going to punish you for overstaying your visa, yes, it's a criminal statute. A civil statute only makes it clear who is in the right or wrong between citizens rather than between a citizen and the government. Marriage is a good example. The marriage statutes are all civil in nature, but if you get married twice, the government will punish you, making that section of the code criminal. Just because the state will not throw you in jail for getting married twice does not make it not a criminal violation to commit bigamy.

That's right. And obstruction of justice is.

It is treated by the Federal government as a civil violation with the only penalty being deportation.

You do realize that if you are to be prosecuted for a crime you have a constitutional right to a jury trial? Since unlawful presence is not a crime, it can be handled administratively.

It is treated by the Federal government as a civil violation with the only penalty being deportation. It is most definitely not a criminal statute.

Where in the Constitution or Bill of Rights does it say "this on for True Citizens"? What the hell is a "true" citizen anyway?
